Im going to get the Perrin FMIC kit, but ive seen a lot of stuff about needing spacers for it. Can anyone tell me exactly what i need to put it on correctly in the way of spacers and any extra parts. i understand that there is some cutting involved, but im sure i can figure that out. thanks

no spacers are needed if you get a real perrin fmic. only cutting involved is two holes to fit the piping through the frame to hook up to the fmic. like... two 4x4 holes or something. no spacers or extra parts though, hope this helps.

be ready for a looonnggg install. just hope your endtanks were manufactured properly unlike mine. youll have to relocate the power steering cooling lines, and ac condensor both a major pita. the cutting is easy if youve got a sawzall or something of that matter. just make sure to file down the sharp edges and primer to prevent rust. and thats about all the helpful tips i can provide. im still awaiting my resized boost tubes from perrin...ohyea you going bov, bpv, or dual setup? im still running stock bpv for now and the turkey is hella loud and actually shorter intervals than before haha. all that aside i love this intercooler. i could really feel a ton more power and im much closer to my friends srt4 now. it will act a lil fiesty tho sometimes if you dont have an ems or soemthing. all this bigger flow is hard for the stock computer to handle so be prepared for that...hope this helped. ill stop now, mucho long post.

I didn't think the install was too bad. We did it in 4 hours from start to finish, including cleaning up all the tools and such. Just make sure you cut your holes big enough the 1st time, we had to go back and make some more room so the pipes didn't rub.

thnaks for the input guys. can anyone tell me for sure if you need spacers and suck for the ac condenser and the power steering? some people say yes and some ppl say no

It probably depends on the version of the Perrin you get. My guess is the original design had this issue of needing to move the power steering and AC lines. Since some people are saying no, my guess is Perrin modified the design after people complained ... just guessing though.

i think the hardest part was putting the hot pipe on, that was a tight fit for me, anyone have any suggestions on giving that area more clearence? i think a motor mount or something with a bolt on it is super close to the pipe, but doesnt rub.

ok so i talked to someone at perrin and they said that u have to reposition the ac condencer, is that the thing by the hotside pipe or the coldside pipe? im not much for finging stuff under the hood

Its by the cold side pipe. You have to move it so you can run the pipe.

im running the stock bpv only, im gonna keep it like that till i get the flage for the type s welded on then go to that and move the maf between the bov and the tb. sorry i dont kno how to post pics on here. i never figured it out

ive been running the stock bpv for awhile now. did you notice your turkey kinda sound slower than before you got the intercooler? like the intervals on mine changed. you can see the difference here:

i just happen to be getting my flange welded tomorrow and installing my hks ssqv. you shouldnt need to relocate your maf, running the dual setup takes care of the stalling i thought...

well im gonna get rid of the stock bpv when i get my flange welded on, im just gonna get whoever does it to put it on where the spot for the stock bpv is. i tried running a dual setup before and i still had a stalling problem so i gonna make sure i dont this time. and yea i did notice the gobble was slower.

Ok this is prob. a dumb question for some of you, but im looking into getting the perin fmic, just wonderin about the maf, not really sure what the abreviation means but also when you add this intercooler its means you add more air, and if you add more air you have to add fuel, just wonderin if relocating the maf helps with that.

MAF = mass airflow sensor you dont have to reposition the maf for the ecu to add the correct amount of fuel for the air. the people that relocate it between the bpv/bov and the throttle bod do that because you wont stall if you want to have the bov vent to the atmosphere rather than recirculating. so really the reason for relocating the maf is so the maf can correct for the air loss that the bov causes. thats about it. because if the maf is before the bov its expecting all that air to go to the cylinders when infact it is loosing a lot of it when your bov opens
