for those of you who have cargo trays...

Does it replace the carpeted floor, or go on top of it?

Will I have to remove itto get the spare tire?

It goes on top of the carpet. Yes, you'll have to take it out to get to the spare tire. But, that's not a problem. It's light. I love it.

Me too...great to have! How often do you need to get at your spare tire? Hopefully not that often...if you have dogs, you can just take the cargo tray out and hose it off. Unfortunately, I have 2 big airedales and they both do not fit in. One has to sit in the back seat!

I just got my cargo tray in today. I personally think it's a piece of crap. It doesn't fit the way it shows in the picture (mine's pinched at the back of the rear seat b/c the corners don't fit right). I might as well have taken $40 and set it on fire.

It's flimsy, you've got to cut holes in it if you want to use the cargo net.

By the way -- yes, you have to remove it to get to the spare.

Mine fit perfectly. I don't have the cargo net.

I really like my cargo tray. Fits perfectly and catches all kinds of debris, both solid and liquid.

I have a 2003.0 P5. I understand the tray doesn't fit as well in 2003.5 P5s when the rear seats are up because the subwoofer enclosure moves the "trunk" area higher and forward.

Too bad it doesn't fit in the 2003.5s. I have a 2002 and my cargo tray fits as shown in the picture. I've had it 18 months and it's very durable and easy to clean. I don't have the cargo net, but having to cut holes in a trunk tray to use tie-down points is pretty standard. Those of us who don't tie things down in the trunk sure wouldn't want the tray to come with holes in it.

cargo tray

i have a p5 3.5 and mine fits fine and its not that hard to lift the tray to get the trunk. easy to take out and put back in

I just picked mine up and it fits HORRIBLY. I have a 2003.0. He thinks it may be the wrong part & is going to order another one and see what happens. The part number seems to match though (0000-8b-j02). I don't know, it seemed like a good idea but now its just becoming another headache.

I have an 03.0 and it fits perfectly. I really like the convenience of not having to worry about what I throw in the back.

the tray kicks ass
when i go to lowes or home D to buy plants i just take the tray out and hose it off...
i got the tray and cargo net for free from the dealer cause it was already in the car and i said i wasn't going to pay for that:)

Good deal.

I wish I coulda done that with the leather. I wanted "LaserBlue/ABS/Moonroof" and there wasn't one withing 500 miles that had all three and no leather. But I'm glad I got the leather now.

Another thought about the cargo tray: It's a relative bargain.

I paid $30-something for mine. My girlfriend liked it so much, she bought one for her RSX at the Acura dealer. Cost $100.

I just went to the dealer even thought it's cheaper on Mazdastuff.com. They didn't have it in stock but I told the guy that I want to see if it fits nicely before I'd buy it.

He told me to check back on Tuesday. I'll see how that goes.

When I got the car it was in it, and I didnt really care one way or another. After 5 months of ownership all I can say is I love it. I Hope it fits for you and you end up likeing it as much as I have.

only got one comment about the cargo tray ever got sand or oil on your rear carpet the cargo tray is one of the best ideas from any manufacturer and resonably priced never leave home without it.

i luv the tray... i mean if you look @ the trunk carpeting... it's just a cheap piece of cardboard or a thin piece of wood~~

and i now just throw everything in w/o a care:cool:

Hmm, I always have plastic bags(big) in the trunk to cover it for the times I need to carry something that could mess up the carpet, perhaps I should get one of those covers....

Ok, here's the deal. The cargo tray looks great on the Internet. Found a great deal for $39.99 at a dealer in VA. I get it a week later, he sends me the one for a Protege. Ggrrrrrrr. Ok, so I send it back and wait another week. Get it tonight and the thing still doesn't fit. WTF? It does not look like the one in the picture. Mine has a 90' angle in the bottom left of the tray. The picture shows it curved out. My bottom right is curved out but my in my trunk that's 90'. What gives? (scratch) guys, help me out. Did i receive another incorrect item or does Mazda claim they fit better than they really do. I really want one as I throw a bunch of stuff back there but not at the expense of looking like crap.

Thanks in advance.
