For a cheaper Budget tire which one is better for the dollar and will last longer?

Falken
Ziex Ze 512
215/45R17
19.8

or

Hankook
Ventus Hrii H405
215/45R17
21.37

Ziex is a GREAT all around tire, with great treadwear and very acceptable handling for not being an all out performance tire. A lot of tire shops are swearing by them. If those are your two choices, definatly go with the falken over the hancock.

I am running Nankang NS-1 205/40/17 they have done me well for one summer . great in the dry not to bad in the wet either . They're an inexpensive option tire that I will use again

yeah ziex is the way to go... but my fuzions were 60 each and i needed to save the cash (mind you mine are 205/50/16)

I got the Ziex for $312 shipped to my door. Best budget tire in my opinion. When I got them mounted and balanced the shop had to remove all of the weights from my wheels, which means the tires are very well balanced (or they counter acted the rim balancing exactly).

A friend of mine used to work at Goodyear, and said the Nankang tires are the worst quality he has ever seen as far as balancing is concerned.

I think the Hankook tires are getting a bit better as far as quality. You're good to go with either one of those choices.

Bring this back to life since I found a nail in my potenza today. Needed new tires anyway.

What is your number listed below, the 19.8 and the 21.37?

Also, I am thinking the Ziex 512's or the FK-451's. I want something that will last though, so probably the Ziex 512's.

Anyone care to comment?

Thanks,
Ryan

definately go for the Falken. that's what I am running now and they are very good tires. Treadwear is 280 if I am not wrong. I got them for $300 installed at a local shop.

what handles better the Falkens or the Fuzion zr1's?

i've been more than happy with my fuzion's, just curious to see which has better dry handling.

Cool, the Ziex 512 or the FK-451?

I am thinking Ziex 512, since they are all season performance.

Are the Fuzions any good in rain/snow?

They were fine for Summer tires. I run Blizzaks in the winter, but I didn't put them on till first week of February. So till then, I was strictly on the Fuzions.

Between the Falkens and the Fuzions, I'm not really concerned with snow handling. (I have blizzaks for that). Just wondering about the dry.

Damn that is a good deal. I 'l be getting new rubber next month.

I was gonna wait about a month also....but a nail wanted to enter my Potenza.

Hmmm, i need new rubber, and at that price, i might as well get some new rims too!
