if you say so...but i think i'll do that after my finals heh.
anyway being the anal bastard that i am, i have been reading up on a lot of info concerning wiring, fuses, batteries and what not. and now i basically know what is involved, what actually happens in terms of electricity coming through. but i do have one final question. and correct me if i'm wrong here:
so i'm supposed to connect the positive wire of the tube light to the fuse or a place where there's power coming through, such as the back of the cig. then run the negative wire from the tube to the chassis or the negative terminal of the battery, which is termed to be the "ground." ok that makes sense. however, if take a look here http://www.rare-earth-magnets.com/magnet_university/magnets_conventional_vs_electron_flow.htm you can see that actual electron flow goes from the negative to the positive. the motion of charge goes from positive to negative, in which case negative being grounded makes sense. but in reality e- flow comes from the negative side... so how does this all work?

Do you mean something like this?

that's exactly what i'm trying to do...but that's not what i'm trying to find an answer to. but thanks for the pic! looks good. what size neons?

Its the smallest size streetglow neon sticks.....it just plugged in the cig lighter with all the wires being hidden along the craxks and creveces....since our cig lighter turns off with the ignition, I have it always set to go on and off with the car so never need to mess with it...... right under the steering colum and glove box there is a little lip that it can sit on....just use double sided tape and let it sit on the lip....no need to use screws or anything...... the little converter box is hidden behind the stereo area..... you really can't see anything..even the light rod itself so looks sweet and not blindingly too bright.....even though it looks very bright in the picture.....if you need more details i'll take more pics.....I want to run them to the rear passenger footwells now...

OMG That looks sick! I just ordered 4 blue neon 12" tubes off ebay for $33 shipped, and I can't wait to install them and have them look like yours do! I'm planning to put the front two under the dash like you did, and put the 2nd two under the front two seats so the back floor lights up. Could you post some more pics like you said you could? I'm really excited about ow this is gonna look! I was gonna have them all hooked up to one cigarette lighter plug, but I completely forgot about how the cig. lighter only goes on when the car is on....so I'm not sure right now how I can wire the cig. lighter cord. to make it always stay on....I want to also get a wireless remote for my interior neon if I can make the power to them always stay on!

Please post some more pics if you have time!

You want them to always stay on? just stick the key in the ignition.... you want to have it for show purposes? maybe you can hook it up to an alarm system or something? I will post pics after I take some when I get home....

Regarding the article you sent.... the actual flow of the electons doesnt really matter... what matters is completing the curcuit... and by connecting the positive to a power source and the negative to a grounding source you are completing the circuit...

Sorry to thread jack but this is for DaViper who wanted to see some pics...
Its not much but I took a few pics of where its mounted......I just use the cig lighter plug so no fancy wiring but everything is shoved in the creveces so no wires are showing.

Wow thanks so much for the pics! The neon looks awesome! I think they might look even better with different floor mats though, those ones make some sorta glare effect and bring out the funny pattern. I'll take some pics of mine when the arrive this week and I get them installed. I have the mazda black carpet ones. I'll also have pics of the back floor lit up.

Thanks1

I have the embroidered mazda ones also, they are under the other 2...I am very anal about my car so have 3 sets of floormats....hahahha.......the top 2 are plastic walmart ones to protect the actual nice one under it... The clear plastic one catches all the water and little pebbles...

O, alright cool. I like my floormats very clean too, but I'd rather keep the look of the sock mats....it's gonna suck though when I have to buy new ones...cuz I think the black ones arent cheap... Either way is a win and lose in part situation I guess...

Thanks!

indeed the lights do look awesome. thanks for the pics. the placement of the driver's vs the passenger side are different, i.e, passenger side is lower than the driver's side. does that affect the lighting at all? i can't tell in the pics but... also i know there's a crack right under the steering wheel (because of adjustment purposes). does the light seep thru there and cause any sort of distraction?

no, yes, no

and nights to pull the plug through there you could just pull the cig out snip the lighter out and tap the wires in the cig lighter and you dont have that plug there

Yea I know...but I like being able to turn them off sometimes......maybe i'll mount a switch somewhere.....

i have a switch just put a break in the power wire. nothing hard mines in the center console ill take a pic.
