Foglight Covers: Phase One

Very good! I'm glad to see that someone understands the bracket concept that I've been thinking of. The bracket will have to be a thin sheet of aluminum or something because it'll be a tight fit around the light.

I will have some updated pictures tonight. ive been fiberglassing, sanding, grinding and bondoing for the past couple hours. goin to get some food now though, so pics after food.

Thanks.

Keep in mind these are still very, very rough. Just bored waiting for more bondo to dry.

Waiting for bondo to dry! Use more accelerator!

Pe@ce
Dont use too much though..A really hot mixture wont harden and cure correctly....but it will get real hard real fast.It just wont hold up like it is supposed to.

yeah, more accelerator for quick touchups...especially for something like this when you're making something from scratch and you can easily add/tale away...its when doing intricate bodywork that requires a good amount of edging to get the lines right that you need the stuff to dry slow...

Screw the pretty pink color, make that s*** look like this guy and you'll be a lot less anxious (laugh)

yeah, i shoulda mentioned that too...dont use TOO much...if u do, its kinda like spraying cold water on a hot pan...not good(causes warpage) but in the case of body filler it causes it not to adhere to the surface its on and crackes inside it also.

have you thought about using some kind of epoxy to make the covers? maybe urethane?
Epoxy? What do you mean?

Urethane? No, i dont know how to do that. They will be fiberglass. and possibly carbon fiber. But definetly fiberglass.
