Phase One:
Creation of the plug.

Let these pictures speak for themselves as I am way too tired to type anything. And yes, I know they are different sized. Its really hard to sand them into the same exact shape :(

Once I fiberglass the foam though, i should be able to add whatever i need with more fiberglass or body filler.

the foam is just sitting there, balancing on the edge, thats why you can see the very top of the fog. obviously this isnt how they are going to be mounted.

man im so hungry now...i might even eat at white castle...

edit: im so full of foam dust!
ps. if anyone has any helpfull hints or ideas, dont be shy. im already kinda bummed they aren't the same shape, but I'll be able to look at em more tommorow.

+1

esp. after i get my PIAA 520's.......

without being there or seriously looked at my own fogs that much wouldn't you (theoretically) be able to just make one side and thenjust mount it upside down on the other side? it depends upon how you are looking to attach them to the lights.

sorry, stream-of-conscious-typing-system in use:
are the foglight cavities non symmetrical? if so then scratch the previous idea. in order to get my head around this better, what materials are you contemplating using for the end product? what sort of system are you thinking about using to attach them (brackets, clamps (to the light housing), etc)? sorry for all the questions, just trying to figure this out. oh yeah and before I go, those do look like a very good start to a fine product :D keep us posted!

yea vents possobile to have the drivers side acted as a ram air for CAI
or to run piping up to where a SRI tends to end up. I know that Corksport has something like this but it's really easy to (you could get some cheap pipe from Lowe's for under $10) on the P5s (dunno what the MSP's bay looks like but with the same stock airbox, I'd imagine theres a ton of space also).

Just flipping it upside down will not work, the top and bottom of the cavities are not symmetrical. dont worry, ill have somethin figured out. im thinking of re-taping up the bumper, putting the foam temps in and then fiberglassing the top layer over so its flush with the bumper, and then flipping it over and fillng it with bondo. hard to describe, but like i said, don't worry. these are just to make the plug, once i have an nice plug i can pull fiberglass replica peices (once i figure that out too :p )

mounting (yet to be finalized, and no prototyping has been done...) is planned to be a bracket that fits behind the fog light and bends around, so you would have to take out your fog, put the bracket, and then the fog back in.

i hope i answered everything
