Fog light bulb for Protege 5

What kind of light bulbs are in the fog lights for the proteges? 1 of mine blew out. I want to make sure i have the right bulb before i remove the bumper to replace it b/c its a pain in the butt. Oh and where can i get them?

H3 is the bulb size. And you can get them at pretty much any local auto parts store. Some Walmarts carry them too. IIRC, bumper removal isn't required. You can undo the shields underneath and access the bulbs that way.

No need to remove the bumper, I just did it yesterday:

Remove the plastic undercover corner piece or slightly bend it, its held in by about 3 screws.
Slowly remove the nut that holds the fog light assembly and slide the assembly out, dont loose the nut and two washers.

Since the wire is still there, it will not go far, but it will go far enough to remove 2 screws and pop the glass out

replace bulb

replace glass + two phillips scews

slide back, secure with two washers and a nut

test

put back the plastic undercover piece.

done.

Took me about 20 min

I was too, when I first read that I need to remove the entire bumper (f dat...)
But its really an easy swap, just be carefull with the wiring, dont tear it, its very tight
