Then how would you access/use it if there is no button? So called "programming" is just to make the EPU recognizes the fob (which contains an unique ID internally).
Button or not shouldn't matter. My guess.
HI, can a FOB with tailgate button be programmed on a CX5 supplied with FOBs without that button? Is it just a programming or the BCM needs to be replaced too?
(uhm) I'm not sure I understand your question,
but it sounds like you want to buy a FOB with a power tailgate button to use on a CX-5 that has a FOB w/o tailgate button ??
what year and model is your CX-5 ?
a FOB w/o tailgate button would mean there's no power liftgate = no motor on liftgate
so just buying a FOB w/ tailgate button would be useless, you'll also need to add power liftgate motor, not very cost effective
That's exactly right. I have the 2012 GT AWD. I have the button to unlock it at the rear, should't FOB with tailgate button just act as when I press the button on tailgate?
So why don't they all come with the tailgate buttons then? Why are there 2 versions of FOBs available?
I mean...it kind of isn't. How hard is it to push an unlock button twice?
Now if it was a power lift gate that open/closed...
If the vehicle had 2 stage unlock then yes makes perfect sense. But it doesn't.
Didn't realize there were CX-5's that didn't have 2 stage unlock.
AFAIK no current Mazda has 2 stage unlock
Interesting. (uhm)
Interesting indeed. Unaware if many cars actually have this feature
My 2006 Holden Calais had this for drivers door unlock only then remaining doors. Seems to be a rare feature to have 2 stage unlockMy 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee did have 2 stage unlock.
My 1997 TJ on the other hand? What's a fob? (rofl)
