Well im trying to see what one everyone likes the most but theres so many dam post about it. so i made a poll

well i think chances are everyone is just gonna vote for what they have, but i voted MAM, assuming of course you can get it in a timely manner.

From what I have seen in which is only a couple kinds I think the MAM looks the best and I love how the ic pipes and what not are routed. I own the hibooost and have never had issues with it if you are ona budget.

The only reason I was ultimately considering a HiBoost was the fact that it doesnt require major cutting to install. That and it looks nice.

Nor does the begi and im pretty sure its good for just over 300 horsies

iON here. fits well, minor cutting, uses stock BPV and allows for a larger radiator.

Didn't bother with an FMIC on the MSP, I went with CustomMSP's SMIC. No cutting necessary ;)

Worked great too...I still strongly believe that an SMIC is a great option for most people out there. Most people are not, and never will, put enough power to the ground that an upgraded SMIC can't handle.

Decided to go with an FMIC for the MSM (also CustomMSP's), because it came with "one" stock. (In quotes because the stock "FMIC" on the MSM is an absolute joke...even smaller than the SMIC on the MSP...looked like a friggin buck tooth on the MSM lol)

FMIC's look more sexy though. I've seen all of the above except for the BEGI and the Pann Auto in person, all of them looked good, and any one would be an excellent upgrade IMO.

The power being made isn't the only factor to consider when deciding on an upgraded intercooler. There is no way a sidemount and smaller radiator can keep my car cool in 90+*F heat at the track. Plus for the price of an aluminum SMIC and pipes you can buy a complete FMIC.

what would help a lil more on my choice would be if people could post pics of the different intercoolers they have...and using the search button to find pictures isnt easy..

Not everyone is putting the car under those kind of conditions. That said, I have made many runs at the track in over 100 degree weather, as well as several autocrosses in those same conditions. I never had a problem with the small stock radiator and CustomMSP's SMIC.

And you can get an SMIC + pipes for a couple of hundred bucks cheaper than the average FMIC. Not only that, you can purchase those items one at a time (get the SMIC first, then upgrade the pipes later, or vice versa), making it an easier purchase for people on a budget.

The installation is much simpler too; just about anybody can install it in their driveway with relative ease compared to an FMIC, which requires a lot more time and effort to install. And if you aren't capable of installing an FMIC yourself (which a lot of people are not), getting it installed is an added cost.

Yes, I know an FMIC is a better option for some people. It is just my firm belief that many people overlook a simpler and cheaper route when researching and purchasing an intercooler upgrade.

thats the MAM fmic. I can try and get some underhood shot this weekend if ya want.

FMIC=sex
I'm sure most of the people here would benefit, and probably be satisfied, from an upgraded SMIC (as the stocker is junk), and may not need a FMIC, but damn it just looks so good. IMO.
I think the Perrin looks badass. Although, you do have to cut some of the bumper support. I have also heard of that one not "centering" in the mouth of the bumper and lip. Any others heard of this? No biggie to be honest, only a 1/4" or so anyway.
I'll be looking next spring, hopefully for a used one of these.
