Hey guys i'm looking around at things because i'm quite upset with Corksport at the way the exhaust thing all went down... if i get that '79 Buick sold (probably lower price than 2k more like 1k i think maybe 1.5k) i'm thinking i'm going to cancel that order and switch the order to a fmic... i just had some ?'s.

  1. Would rust be a problem (mild steel, Aluminum) or is that hust the core and won't be exposed?
  2. Any sugestions on which one... i don't think i want to spend 1.5k on a fmic but i know mam is prob the best... BESIDES that which one?
  3. How much will the gains be?
  4. Would it be ok to have on during the winter or would i have to take it off?
    (branch off ? of # 1)
i will add more as i think of them

-- I wouldn't worry about rust. There is a ton of guys in CA running FMIC's without a problem. My only suggestion is to keep your car clean.

-- I would say the MAM is the best also. But if you want something decent for a good price get the hiboost kit. It fits well and makes a huge difference.
It will work with you Intake also...

  3. How much will the gains be?
--You will get good gains and the car will run better in the hot summer days.

Here is my last dyno run, I did have some issues with my EBC so I switched over to a manual.

--Winter is fine, just keep your car up.

that's a great deal on the HIBOOST, you should take it. Also, I can't promise anything, but if Corksport wont cancel your order, I would do everything in my power to buy it from you if you want to go a different route.

giving Ken a call after he gets off work at about 5:30 and the HiBoost FMIC will be mine soon enough :)!

didn't you just read that???

When I put the Hiboost kit on my car the heatsoak was gone. I dropped 1psi of boost and the car pulled much harder and smoother.... If you look at my dyno's even after 10+ run my car still did not loose HP... It ran great!!!!!!

mmmm... i'm looking forward to that... driving on a sat night (hard) and NOT having to go sit at a gas station for 10 15 minutes to be able to run fine again :) lol you get what u pay for :)

Mutmatt,

A little off topic, but:

I was reading your sig and your near future mods and all look good. But if I were you, before you get anything else performance wise, I would get exhaust. With that FMIC and Injen doing good work bringing in nice cold air, you need to let the crap flow out freely. The stock exhaust is just to restrictive. Even a midpipe would help you a ton.

Well i went to wisconson for my soccer trip and have been waiting patiently for the UPS (or FedEx) person to come down in the culdi-sac and stop at my house! with a rag in my turbo and a rag in my bpv hose! lol i love not having a car :) my girlfriend gets to drive me around! lol! it did ship on mon (08/22) of last week from CA and has yet to arive in MN to this date (Tues 08/30)! kinda buggin me but nothing to serious

You should request a tracking number. The rest of my FMIC shipped today:)

requested the tracking #... AGAIN! and the estimated date is Sep 2! why does that always happen. I get one date and then another! no big! i may just have to put my piping back on my smic so i can drive for a few days

I just received my Tracking number for the rest of my kit..... It has not updated yet... But hopefully I can have the car running in 2 weeks or so...:)

Let's hope so, it's only been sitting in the garage all summer.
