Flashing BSM OFF light

I just went and picked up my car from getting the 2 front windows re-tinted and noticed that my BSM OFF light was flashing. I pulled over and turned the car off, turned it back on and started to drive to see if things changed. The light came back on at about 20mph, which is when I think BSM kicks in. Anyone else experience this? Any ideas on what might have caused it?

I've already made an appointment with the dealer for Thursday but would like to find out as much information as possible ahead of time.

Maybe someone bumped the BSM off button and turned it off. Press the button and see if it comes on before you drive to dealer...

Press the Info button on the steering wheel until you get to Settings. Check to see that BSM is enabled there. Beyond that, I'm not sure what else it could be.

The button definitely wasn't bumped and it was enabled in settings. If the button had been bumped, it would have only showed solid instead of flashing. Flashing indicates a problem preventing normal operation. I did some reading and found similar issues with the CX9 and it mentioned to clean the bumper and test. The CX5 owner's manual also mentions this. i went outside and wiped just the black part of my back bumper and took a test drive, no issues. When I wiped the bumper there was some type of gritty substance all over it that didn't appear to be just dirt. I'll test for a few days and make sure that's the resolution and report back.
