Fishdonotbounce's 2008.5 CWP Speed3 GT "Build" Thread

Right, like I said though, I don't really care what class I'm in.

Anyway, back to Ivan's build. :)

How in the wide world of sports does a Speed3 and a P5 end up in the same class? That is just wrong!
I am in the same class as well. Mods to motor, suspension, interior and so on, like Phen said, interior removal puts you in the class.

Besides, handling and driver mod is the name of the game in autocross. My Speed3 can have 3 times the power of Evan's P5 and he could still beat my time on the course.

Anyway, going home to wash the car and polish the exhaust tip.

Some pictures from my first auto-x ever. I'm officially hooked.

Good! I remember trying to get people to do it back when I ran, and no one cared. Something about chasing cones in a parking lot being retarded or something...

I had done about 4-5 track weekends before I did my first autocross. I always thought there was no way it would be that fun, and it is. :)

Hey thanks for looking out for me. (2thumbs). I've decided to stay away from coilovers until next year. When I buy, I will probably buy new or very lightly used.

I have a few things that I'll be working on in the next couple of days. Need to clean the engine bay thoroughly, wash the exterior and clean the interior. Thinking about entering MOTM for the first time with this car.

A couple quick updates

- I bought a Mazdaspeed oil cap that usually comes in red but in bare aluminum. It was a reject for slight imperfections from the factory but it looks great. I need to do a serious cleaning of the valve cover and possibly paint it as well.

- I pre-ordered the SURE injector seals.

- Brake pads were delivered and ended up being regular Mazda3 pads. Issue was quickly resolved by CR3 and the new set is on its way.

- Pads and lines will be installed sometime next week.

Do you have a plastic valve cover like the regular 3's?

May I come over to do my lines? I need a helper to bleed to brakes and I'll help you do yours. ;)

The intercooler sits on top of 80% of the valve cover on the MS3.

It's a metal valve cover unlike the regular 3's and of course you can. I was planning on inviting you over anyway when I did the brakes haha.

This, but the part that I can see is super dirty and fugly. I think I'm just going to clean it very well and call it a day. It all depends. I kind of want to make the engine bay spotless but i don't know if I'll have the patience. Simple Green, steamer, toothbrush, towel and time.

I know what you mean, mine is the same way. The area around the spark plugs is a bit rusty on mine, I'd be afraid to see what it looks like underneath the intercooler.

Lol yea when Jake and I started doing the brakes about a week ago (before we realized the brake pads were the wrong ones) he showed me that. Those clips can do some damage!

I like your wheels more and more everytime I see them
