patrick-
what dealer are you going to? i took mine to star mazda in glendale and had a hell of a time getting them to acknowledge the tsb. the first time i showed it to the service writer he blew me off saying "you can't believe everything you read on the internet." and said that the warranty on the clutch was 12k. it took a lot of phone calls to get them to check the tsb, but they finally replaced it at about 18k. it was a b**** to get them to fix it, but they finally did, for free of course.
I will be taking it to Thousand Oaks Mazda. They were very helpful about the tsb. They pulled it up on the internet while I was there. I have 35,000 miles on my car and the chatter is really bad. Although, go figure, the last couple of days, the chatter seems to have subsided a bit. lol I think my car knows its going in to the shop, so it's being good.

Some dealers are assholes about any tsb's, but , Thousand Oaks Mazda is pretty good about it. They even said to call my sister. She purchased the same car, from the same dealer. They offered to relace her clutch, flywheel assembly as well.
It did'nt take anything to get them to perform the service. In fact, they seem eager to complete the job.
I have heard that Star Mazda has a bad rep. That's why I ended up in Thousand Oaks. So far they have been the best dealer I have seen. (Did I just hex myself?)
If this all goes well, with no problems or hassles, or anything, they will have a customer for life.
The warrenty on the clutch is 50,000 miles, according to my dealer.
Oh, the only thing they said was I would have take my header off to honor the warrenty. Other than that, everything else is good to go.
So, mountjonas I would see if you can take it to another dealer, as it seem's they are not very honest with you.
Also, I take my service guys a dozon donuts every time I have it serviced. Call ass kissing, I don't care. I think it's cheap insurance.
Makes them happy and a happy service tech means quality work.
Like I said, so far so good.
