Question is - wait the full 15,000km for the first oil change, or change oil at half way eg 7,500kms
The Mazda app says as follows, but I cant see the same information in the owners manual:
“The original oil in your new CX-5 is specially blended to optimise engine run-in and ensure long-term performance. Mazda recommends this first fill is replaced with oil that meets Mazda specifications after 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first, to ensure maximum longevity.”
Im struggling to believe the “special blend” that is not only a break-in oil but also lasts the full 15,000km oil change interval….
This ain’t the old days where the break-in oil was changed after a short distance and the proper long term spec stuff used from then on!
My gut and the video linked below re oils and running in modern engines from a real expert both point me toward an earlier oil change having some real benefits.
What say ye?
