Black Mica P5
I bought my P5 about 5 weeks ago and am now able to post on this board! Yay!

My 2003 P5 is the black mica, only options are the ABS, Air bags, sub-woofer.

I love it so far. Bought it for dependability, fuel economy (coming from a Pontiac Grand Prix,,,this is way more economical and dependable) and it looks good.

I have been surprised by the handling, surprisingly nimble and sure-footed.

(hi)
welcome! I bet you are happy to be rid of that Pontiac!? hehe

Yup. A great running car but (it was a 2001 GT model) at 40k it was starting to come apart and I was envisioning great financial losses to keep it in good condition. It needed a complete front brake rebuild at almost a grand so I applied that grand towards the down of the P5. I put a lot of miles on my cars so dependability is paramount. So far,so good at 2400 miles.

Welcome. Finally you have come to the dark side...errr...I mean to the good side. The Welcome Wagon should be coming to pay you a visit shortly. Have fun posting as well as fun on the road! :D

welcome to the board....also how does that sub sound on the p5?

It sounds okay. It really depends on what you want out of it. Me,, I don't listen to real bass-driven music really loud. I do like a solid bottom end which it gives. It is better than most stock stereo systems I have heard. It doesn't "bump" though.

speaking of the pontiac, test drove the GTP ('04) in the 24-hour drive program. I was impressed with the power but those brakes had to be worked pretty hard to stop that puppy. The HUD and boost meter is "neat" for an older person's car.

I will join in and welcome you to the board.

You will see there are many things that can be done to our cars.
You can read the signatures or click on the www buttons below to see somebody's webpage.

Enjoy your new car.

My g-friend totalled out her car and we rented a 2004 GT model and it felt the same as my 2001. The brakes sucked, the dash rattled as well as the rest of the plastic in the car, and sight lines out of the car were horrible. It ran good though. I have not driven a '04 GTP but my feeling as a previous owner is: that it is not enough car for the money. SOmeone at GM has got to get it into their heads that finish detail and quality is as important as performance. They run out good but suck the life out of you with problems.

My 2001 rattled like a car that was 20 years old. (too many other "little" problems to mention) Sad because I really liked the spirit of the car.

Yessssss! Another black mica joins the ranks! Welcome, great color choice! :D 'Course... I'm not biased or anything.... :p

I love the color. It was between that and the yellow but the yellow is a little too loud for me.

GM makes great trucks and SUV's, but their cars--with the exception of the Corvette--are so far behind they sometimes seem to be a step away from bearskins and stone knives. Bob Lutz seems to be chnaging this, though. Witness the Caddy CTS-V (read about it in the new Car&Driver, sounds sweet), and the new GTP (ditto)

My family has owned a bunch of GM cars in my lifetime, and they all had problems. Windsheilds with stress cracks, squeaks and rattles, etc.

Whoop, end hijack. Welcome to the board!

i like the 04grand prix. which is a supprise because american car design has been in the trash for the last few years. its nice to see them coming back.

this is purely design standpoint though, i cant comment on reliability/ QC. ;)

Im looking forward to seeing and driving the GTO. It sure as hell a strange thing to think about seeing the next Pontiac. I thought after the Aztec GM should have put Pontiac out of its misery, but with lutz in charge. . . looks like a brighter future.
