HID - those are the headlights people blind me with on dark highways, right? Kinda bluish-white tinged? Hate those!!

Hahaha.... not when you are IN the car with HID... :) j/k. I think HID comes in stock (ie, TL, 3-series), they are quite reasonable. But ANY SUV with HID definitely are eyes burners.

kinda an odd question, but what does the key look like? The VW's have such cool key's, and my current MP% key is nice and small... did they change that stuff, and the romote keyless entry... thing, I guess. Like I said, and odd question, but something that's intresting to know.

Here's a pic of the remote and the key for Canada. Nothing special. It looks ok though. Personally I don't like that big VW key. It's nice to look at but takes more space in my shorts :D

One thing I did notice that was cool is the sound system as a function that turns up the sound volume automatically as your speed increases and turns is back down as you slow down....pretty neat actually!

The ALC, right?

I have mine turned on...all the way to Level 3, but it's still not that noticable that it's volume changed...but then again, it's probably doing such a good job that I'm not even noticing it :D

Yeah the ALC. Mine's also at the max.(3). Honestly, it's doing a GREAT job. It's just when I was slowing down a few days ago that I noticed the music volume came down too. I was like "Is it me or the volume just went down? When I arrived at home I looked into the owner's manual and figured it was the ALC option.

It's little things like that that makes me feel so lucky to have chosen this car. Mazda has done a great job....Especially for a car in this price range. :D

Yeah...I figured that it was the ALC once I gave it a little bit of gas on the highway. Not that noticable on city roads.

You know....sometimes I wonder though. Where did Mazda cut corners to make such a great car? I mean, on the surface, it seems like you have everything you want in a car: good fit and finishing, powerful engine, fancy "extras", etc. But what about some other things that we didn't think of that Mazda could have (I'm not saying that they have) cut corners on?

I honestly have no idea where they have or if they have cut corners. I know that in Canada they scrapped some options to keep the cost of the car "affordable" in that category which explains the removal of the NAV system, HID, automatic climate control etc.

But everyone that looks at it or come ride with me have one thing to say: " Wow!" Honestly I have received so many compliments over the last week it's incredible. I really love my sport GT. (drive)

I know they tried to make it "affordable" to us consumers by removing those things...but what about "affordable" to MAZDA?

I've been getting compliments too.....people double taking my car, etc. It's cool :D

Thanks for getting back to me, and that ALC you speak of... HOLY S*IT, dude... that's a great selling point. They really did bump the cars class up a notch, just by adding little things like that... thats SOOOOO cool!!!

Wait so does the key flip out like the VW and Audi keys? Or were you just saying that you don't prefer those types?

No it doesn't flip out. I prefer it that way. Flip out VW keys are bulky. The mazda one is a regular key with an anti-theft chip in it.

ahh alright, thats what I thought but that comment threw me off. I kinda like the flip out keys, its nice to have a remote and key in one.
