Finally, I got it

been lookin for a couple months now for a used proeteg5, found some, they were alright, so its been a long process

then i went online to look for another one, and saw it, went to the dealership, bought it 2 days later for 15 grand (including tax and stuff)

let me present my 2003 Mazda Protege5, with only 36,800 miles on it, new rims, new air filter, leather, new pedals, new exhaust

you were right abt the ga folks :)

Welcome to the forums, nice lookin car. Do I spy leather seats!?

EDIT: What exhaust is that? Do you know? I can't tell from that pic, but at the very least, that's not the stock tip

woodnt that be the mazdaspeed sport exhaust? the one they say it drones, P5 looks nice man, congrats and welcome

nice buy, 15000 seems like u paid too much :( but the p5 looks like it is in great shape.

welcome to the forum, their is alot of info here.

well after taxes and crap, 15k sounds about right... I see it has leather.

Check under the floor in the hatch - do you have a subwoofer in the spare tire?

Also, does it have ABS/side impact air bags?

Do I see a tow hitch under the bumper?

You're also missing the stock air box. I see some ducting but can't tell exactly where it's going. Probably a home-made CAI...

Can you get a better shot of the pedals? The previous owner changed those, too...

yep, new pedals, and it has no sub in it, no side air bags, but it does have a tow hitch, i might take it off and put it on my mom's SUV, cause she wants one, evn though it aint that big

and the leather, its very nice
i was very surprised at how good condition it is in

ill take some pics of the 2 little scratches on the hood, those are the only problems with it

but i kept trying to find one under 13 grand, and most of them were in bad shape, but i found this one, and walked away with it for like 15 grand or a lil lower

o, and i think it has the sport exhaust, you can find it on protegegarage, again, i bought it this way, but i do get some annoying drone, not even on the freeway though

but i think the guy hwo had it before me put rims on it that are too wide, theyre 8 inches (at leats my mom says, i dont know where she measured), are they too wide?
cuase anytime i get 400lbs in the back, ex. 2 200lb guys in the back, i get some serious rubbing on the bottom of the springs, at least in that area, and i dont think it has been lowered, do you guys think it is?

Yeah, def the Mazdaspeed axle back. Basically all it is, is the muffler section. I had 1 on mine when I got it. I loved it for a while, until I started doing a lot of highway driving. It sounded great in town, but it got kinda irritating on the highway.

And yeah, it's definately lowered. I dunno abt 8" wheels, but they could be 7" wide w/ a really low offset. You sure you're not rubbing on the inside of the fender? W/ the wheels out that far, that seems like where they should rub

Forget the car, look at that veiw!! Wow (shocked)
Do you have a 360 veiw like that? If so I hate you.:)
Well I see you don't, but I think I might still hate you.

Nice car! I can feel your excitement, as I just bought my 2003 P5 last week! I'm in Canada, so it had about 55000 kms on it (not sure what that is in miles!), its the same silver, however it does not have leather (lucky bum!) but up here that leather is pretty cold in the winter unless its heated! Mine also is the sport AT with the manual shift automatic. I wanted a 5 speed, but i'm too tall and my knees hit the wheel when working the clutch.

So have you thought of any engine mods? I'm thinking about that now. I love my car, but wouldn't mind some more kick around the city! Any ideas? anyhow, let me know.

Once again, nice ride man!!
