What is the weight of the OEM and whats the weight of the Fidanza? Hopefully drivability isn't compromised too much.

Driveability is always slightly compromised with a lighter flywheel. I had one in my old 626 and it noticeably altered the car's character, I loved it. But if you spend alot of time crawling in stop/go traffic with the AC on you'll hate it.

Pros: Crisper throttle response. At higher revs rev-matched upshifting is way faster because you don't have to wait long for the revs to fall. Rev-matching on downshifts is easier, the revs get up there with a smaller jab of the throttle. Slightly quicker acceleration in 1st and 2nd. Basically when driving harder, up and downshifting is easier, faster and smoother, and that makes you feel like a champion.

Cons: Engine is easier to stall, needing more concentration when going from a stop. At lower "daily driver" revs upshifting is more difficult because the revs fall so fast that you have to blip the throttle to get them back up for a smooth upshift. When the AC compressor kicks in it feels like a boat anchor has been dropped. It's hard to justify the installation cost unless you need a new clutch (for those who aren't diy mechanics).

That was with an old N/A 2.5 V6, I don't know how different it would be with a modern turbo 2.3 I4

I know all of this already. I drive a miata with the Fidanza is only 8lbs. I just want to know how much of the drivability is sacrificed by how much weight is shaved off.

Regarding the drivability of the vehicles; Obviously we can not speak directly to this application yet but in general we can say that in similar situations we have found that the the vehicles are much more responsive to the throttle position. The vehicle will accelerate much faster and will be effected by the engine brake factor. As this flywheel replaces the factory dual mass flywheel there may be an increase in the transmission noise level. This is normal because the heavy flywheel with the dampening system in the middle does absorb a lot of the noise. This however does not seem to be an issue with the performance enthusiast as long as they are aware of the fact that it will be there. A sprung hub clutch disc is recommended as they do help absorb some of the sound of the transmission and helps soften the clutch engagement.

Some of the vehicles that we have successfully replaced the dual mass flywheel are Corvette, Ford Focus, BMW, Porsche, Hyundai Tiburon, VW, Audi, Nissan 350 Z, and these are just a few.
