Fidanza 2.0L FSDE flywheel (7lb) with new friction surface

Fidanza 2.0L FSDE flywheel

Just had my clutch replaced and upon removing the pressure place, the threads on the Fidanza were stripped. I had purchased a new friction plate in anticipation of doing so but in looking at my longer term prospects of keeping the car, I decided to go back to a stock weight flywheel. The repair options include just using helicoil or other thread repair options (do some searching on the subject).

Thus, this is up for sale.

Other than being dirty - will clean up prior to shipping - and the threads for the pressure plate being stripped, it's in great shape.

I'm asking $210 + shipping

dude your crazy. helicoil? on a flywheel? and you want 210+shipping?

pictures please i need to see this. now we all know helicoils are an option in certain situations but you have to use discretion.

and where are the mods on this one? im sorry if anybody has a problem with me interfering with a sale but i feel like you should be obligated to some sort of disclaimer or word of caution, or maybe "research the subject is sufficient enough" lets compare scenarios hypothetically.

keep in mind hypothetical - i have an engine for sale, and the only thing wrong with it is a stripped wristpin in the block, it was stripped during assembly - just need to use a helicoil and its good to go....and i want 4,000$ for it. any takers?

some ppl on this forum are not as knowledgable as others..not to insult anybody, we were all once young, naive, uninformed, what have you. and that is the beauty of automotive forums. some ppl join because they want to learn, and i can say there was a time in life where i couldve believed this and purchased it....and god knows where me and my thousands of dollars spent building this car would be right now. if any moderators happen to disagree or have a problem with this, please delete my comments and warn me to refrain from such actions.

then again this guy is right "research the subject.....youll find this a terrible idea"
im done. if somebody buys this please keep in touch with us

I am sorry, but in my opinion... this should be thrown out/recycled.

It looks to be in very very poor condition / abused.

The interior has obvious signs of abuse, the flywheel bolt holes show signs that the bolts were excessively overtorqued, the rear where the flywheel mates with the crank is totally chewed up. I doubt that this could be repaired to be reliable.

Abuse, no. Overtorqued for certain. Though based on my critiqued "research" (on other forums, etc), it seemed common that Fidanza and other al. flywheels would end up with stripped pressure plate threads. It's even my understanding that Fidanza itself recommends some sort of thread repair (Helicoil being just one of many).

I don't have an issue not selling it (though I've seen worse items for wear sold on here); I'll just make it into a clock as planned anyway.

Thanks for the logical feedback Brian.
