Few general questions about 2016 CX-5

I have the Paint Protection film (PPF) kits on my car as well. Hood, fender, mirrors and front bumper as well as the door cups. The guy told me to treat the PPF as I would the rest of the paint when it comes to washing and waxing. So go ahead and put some wax on film. Clay bar won't hurt the film at all but I don't know if contaminants embed themselves in the film like they do the paint. It won't hurt the film to clay it, just be careful around the edges, you don't want to lift the edge of the film at all. Same goes if you ever polish the car with a machine, either dual action or rotary, be careful around the film edges. Otherwise most PPF is self healing, meaning that it has a memory and if there scratches in it a little heat, like the sun on a hot day can help diminish the marks.

Thank you. This is what I was hoping for. Appreciate your detailed messages.

The guy who put on my paint protection film said any wax or sealant would be fine so long as the container doesn't say something like: Warning--Contains Petroleum Distillates. A lot of the mass market wax and sealant products do have this warning, but it's not hard to find a specialty product that does not and some of them are no more expensive than the mass market stuff.
