I am posting this in here with permission from t3ase...

EDIT: All pics & vids have been combined into this post.

I just got my Forge dual-piston BOV this weekend. I previously had their BPV installed & was given the chance to upgrade. I have taken the BPV on & off several times, so I am quite familiar with the installation process, but I'm sure it won't be a problem for anyone else. The only tricky parts are trimming the adapter hose to fit & getting the clamps securely tightened. The whole thing can probably be done in 15 minutes. I haven't had it on for very long, but I can already tell a difference. It holds boost much better than the BPV & I didn't have any stalling problems at all. I can't hear the turkey because I have a turbo-back exhaust, but the guys in Orlando who were also testing this said that it's still there. This brings me to my next topic.

I spoke to Tom (the one showing his rear to the camera) at the VW SFLGTG & he is confident that the turkey is NOT compressor surge. I know this is one of the biggest debates on this site, so I DO NOT want to turn this thread into another one...I simply want to add what he said. It is his belief that the turkey is caused by the angle of the IC piping & the close proximity of the BPV to the turbo. This is why upgrading to hard pipes that relocate the BOV close to the throttle body (like Corksport) should eliminate the turkey.

Back on topic...I really love the new BOV. It does exactly what the other testers have stated (see original thread): holds boost better, spools faster, & sounds awesome (not obnoxiously loud though (thumb) ). I know that many people were asking for updates on pricing & availability, so that's why I made this thread.

I told Tom about the community's interest & asked about pricing & the possibility of a GB. If we can get 15 people who are interested & want to buy one, he said he can DEFINATELY do a GB on these. The pricing he gave me to buy them normally would be about $160 + shipping...the GB would of course be less & would include free shipping. The BOVs should also be available in different colors (you can see some of these colors in the different links), but for now, the ones we have are polished.

Tom & I also talked about the products that Forge is working on right now. They are currently developing Samco hoses to replace the stock plastic IC pipes. They are also considering just making their own FMIC. They will most likely do this, but with the current saturation of the MSP FMIC market, it would be good to see some actual interest to guarantee it. I have a picture that shows some of the cores they manufacture & sell for other cars. They also sell all kinds of other billet products, which you can find in the pic below (complete list is in the 2004 catalogue, which I have).

Please list your user name if you are interested & would like to get in on this GB. Remember, this is a feeler thread, so I am just trying to see if there is enough interest.

just to let you know, the corksport hardpipe kit uses the dual-valve setup, not just a BOV mounted closer to the TB.

I am interested. Will their be a way to mount this one to hardpipes (flanke?) or do we just stick with all the hoses they include with the valve?

Anyone with an MSP that wants a good alternative to heavy modification in order to get a nice sounding and performing BOV should look into this. I bought one right after hearing about it on this site and it has worked to perfection. Just to let people know, apparently I am the only person so far to get any stalling, and it has only happend about 5 times total, I've put about 1500 miles on the car since I installed it. I talked to Forge about the issue and they said I could try a different stiffness spring inside the BOV and that may help but I have just decided to leave it be, it works fine. I didn't mean to rain on anyone's parade here, just wanted to let everyone know that unless something is wrong with my car, this BOV could still cause the car to stall with a high rev to idle drop.

Striker187: I will take pics & get some sound clips or videos tonight. I can tell you that it sounds great...you can hear it from the time you get into boost & then you get a nice sound when it vents. It's not too loud & it doesn't sound like a dog sneezing (like some others I've heard).

jrodhotrod: Tom told me that the FMIC that they would be developing in the future would have a flange to allow this BOV to be mounted directly to it, so I assume that they would be able to produce that piece separately. I'm just speculating, but I will call Forge & find out for sure.

computerGeek: The best idea for you would probably be to find out how many people are going to be in on your GB. Your order alone may be enough to do this GB, but all of yours would be sent to you & then you could ship them with your FMIC.

mSHOCKERp: Cory (03Speed) said he stalled once doing the same thing that you described, but I believe he was going 100+, so it shouldn't be anything you have to worry about. What color spring are you using now & what color did they suggest you switch to? Mine came with the blue spring (which I think is for the EVO) & they had me switch to the green.

I got mine on Friday just when forged got the kits in. There engineers from England were there to look at some stuff...they seemed pretty interested in the speed. I'll post my pics later tongiht

These guys: http://www.milispeed.com/steele/SFLGTG/SFLGTG0035.JPG

They were talking to some of the Dubbers while I was talking to Tom & they're really a funny group of guys. Tom said you had expressed a lot of interest in the FMIC when you were there & that was part of the reason they were considering it.

Here is what the final product looks like:

ITs fantastic...I even blow off in vacumn...not very loud. About stalling. Well, I noticed that when I shift into neutral above 2000rpm there is a rpm drop that sometimes stalls out the car. Its not really a problem just have to adjust my driving style. Tom did change my BOV springs out at Forge so that maybe thats the problem. The "turkey" is way louder and flutters more. It also sounds diffrent depending on how you let off the gas. Blows off real agressively...scares people. I highly recommend...seems like throttle resonse is faster and turbo response is better. It was a snug fit for MSPs with Injens. Just becareful when taking the stock BPV off the flange. I have the valve that has a new design with the wastegate line connecting from the side rather from the front.

Yeah they also tested out a SRT-4 the day they looked at my speed. they already got a plastic hot pipe for the speed...maybe they are going to make some silicone hoses. They might not be making the cold pipes because of the 90 degree bends...might be too costly. Stay tuned for more suff...forge makes excellent product and this is def worth the money. Front mount is def not out of the question...but we just have to show some support. It was fun talking to the engineers from England...just bunch of cool people. They also make "engine dress ups" if you guys are interested.

I talked to forge awhile ago about setting up a group buy and they said it would be unfair to there distributors...so maybe they had a change of heart but this is good stuff.

The "TURKEY" is Wastegate Flutter they are pretty confident of that and explained what the possible cause of the flutter...piping and etc. I love the turkey so much and so many people love the turkey. I was at drift day and a bunch of 240 guys wanted to know how they could make there car sound like that. Apparently alot of JDM cars and drift cars make that sound. They took my stock BPV to test it out.

Me an furiousMojo are going to try to make a sound clip with the injen..which I believe puts out a louder sound since the testers were all stock...except for cory(03speed) who had a CAI...but not injen

mSHOCKERp...I have stalling issues but i'm going to give tom a call later this week to see if he can help out. They switched out the stiff blue "EVO" spring for the golden springs...so I think that may be the problem. But just dont shift into neutral above 2000 rpm or after a heavy throttle throttle. Just have to get use to it if you have stalling problems...its not a big issue at all. Also the testers claimed to get the turkey followed by a whoosh sound. I just get a really loud an long turkey.

Thanks Forge Motorsports. A buch of cool guys...if anyone has anyquestion call them...they are very easy to talk to.

Put me down as in tentatively in and I can always get the flange at a later date. The hardpipes I have now were set-up to work with the stock BPV so I can just use the kit as is but having a flange would be really nice. So the performance on this valve was actually much better then the BPV?

Yeah I told them that one thing wecould use. They def want to do silicone hoses...the hotpipe part. The cold pipe may be too expensive because of the two 90 degree bends. but yeah I told them its something we could use. they probally want to know the intrest for FMIC.

I am taking the BOV out this week so I can take the car into the dealer for the clunk and some other things so I'll take the valve apart and check the spring out. Yeah like you guys said, the stalling isn't really that bad at all and can be driven around. Everyone who's heard my car flips out over it, very unique sound, not FnF at all. Can't wait till I up the boost and have intake/exhaust.
