"Kids" These Days?
Hmmm. Why do kids want 400whp 240's? A quick glance at feature cars numbers from a few recent issures reveals why: August '05 - 400whp Silvia, 652whp Supra, Oct. '05 - 615whp S2000, 468hp RX-7, Jan '06 - 603whp WRX, 540whp S2000. I could go on. WHen you start featuring mroe realistic and balanced cars with lower whp figures then maybe the younger generation will lessen their goals. I do enjoy Modified though and hope that through your Driver Training series of articles these kids will learn to drive a car that's pretty much stock properly before building their 400whp 240SX. That's the real problem - 400whp in the hands of an inexperienced driver. I have been to driving school driving Formula Fords and compete in 20+ Solo 2's a year with my 120whp Protege5. More lapping days and Solo 1's are next.

MM - Good Point Steve, we aren't about to change up the good thing we've got going though. Instead, we are making it an initiative to feature some more 'toned down' cars in every issue alongside the really crazy rides.
