Farking dealership screwed my oil change

o, man that vaccums!!!
sorry to see that.. i really hope that the dealer we have here is better then the dealers all the others have had... well, i guess the best thing to do it to do it myself!! huh
anyway, have a good one, and hope they take care of you!!

Well, they are gonna replace the insulation up top, and do an engine wash. The oil is still full, only drove like 400 km on it..

Manager was really pissed, cause this is just a stupid thing to do..

Still have to find out how he wants to make it up to me..

good for you!! just keep on them about it and it will get taken care of.. don't put it off.

PeaB0dy, is this the first free oil change as well???

Nope, I paid for it...

Brought in my own oil cause they don't have synthetic either..

This is my second oil change (didn't get a free first oil change..)

Re: Missing oil cap

It's always a good idea to check underhood immediately after getting any service; they often forget something. Go to a parking lot nearby before driving home. Later, check for any leaks from time to time. My last oil change at a quick lube on the '88 626 resulted in a leaking filter about three weeks later...my mechanic said the filter was defective (labeled "Mighty", which is a parts reseller).

Once, after having left the car in Vermont for an emergency clutch change, I noticed it wasn't running quite right on the trip home to NY. Sure enough, they hadn't properly resealed the air hose from the filter to the intake manifold, allowing some dust to get in. Further, the air cleaner had a hole in it (possibly from a rodent), and they hadn't noticed this either. Fortunately, I had an extra filter with me.

gosh seems like everyone has had bad luck getting the oil changed.... if it were me i'd just do it myself. lol
the past few oil changes i have had done was a jiffy lube, and i haven't had any problem's with those guys, not to mention i go to the same jiff lube everytime, and i stand there and watch everything they do.

I have one question, WHY don't you change the oil yourself? Thats what I do and I know that I did it right and can drive safely.

I get mine done for $2 by my buddy at a car wash/oil change place now. That filter's just too ******* hard to get too. I did my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd changes myself, but I had my most recent one done in five minutes by my buddy instead of 30 minutes by me. That first was was a MONSTER b****. Damn robot assembly lines.

Sheesh, you guys are lucky. When my man was moving from Oklahoma to Cali, he got an oil change from Walmart. Well, sure enough they messed it up. Engine ceased on his protege...Walmart shelled out for a new engine, plan ticket and rental car. Just can't trust anyone out there!

MY own oil changes take > 30 mins because I try to get as much of that old crap out as much as possible (until it DRIPS out of the oil pan :D).
