Hi Kids -

I want to buy a Mazda factory service manual. I had one for my MX5 and it set me up the bomb. I'd like to get one for my P5. I guess I could ask my dealership parts department, but I have a feeling I'll need to grab my ankles if I go in there to get one.

Anybody know where to get one online? I tried a ebay, and a quick google, but struck out. Right now I'm A.D.D. because of Peet's coffee, and my boss keeps coming by my desk, so one of you freaks should find it for me... :P

Thanks ~ (a) (bow)

okay - am I a total loser for not finding that posted here elsewhere? I searched the forums and didn't come up with anything.

I suck.

nah. i've had that bookmarked for about two years now. i'd download it while you can, though. i thought i read that it was taken down a while back.

I'm trying to figure out how to adjust the steering center on the ps rack. I thought it might be easy, but it's not real obvious looking at the steering section. I just got an alignment, the car tracks straight but the steering wheel is about 5 degrees off center. It's driving me nuts because I'm a nit picky freak. grrrr...

yeah, I should have. they did it about 6 months ago, I'm probably SOL. That tire place is retardo, they left their fancy lug wrench in my trunk and kept my spare, I had a vibration and had to go back once anyway and they still didn't get it right. There's about 3lbs of lead on my front right rim. Goons. Plus, I hate spending 2-3 hours waiting around or trying to drop off the car and go get it later and then haggling with them the work ain't right. I just want to fix it myself *grumble * whine * b**** *

I read through the entire thing, and can't find anything on how to adjust the steering wheel. If and when you find out how to do this, will you please let me know?

to center the wheel you adjust the alignment. so you might have a perfectly aligned car but you have to realign it to straighten the wheel. a crooked wheel is the result of a lazy tech.

Just a heads up on this P5 service manual. It's the worst service manual I've ever read. The instructions for replacement and adjustments are incomplete. This manual assumes that you are a trained technician. It also does not contains all the parts of the P5.

It won't cost you anything so can't complaint.(hand)

I can confirm that it needs an alignment done to get wheel centered. The local dealer told me this, and they don't have an aligning setup. They referred me to the place (Mark Morris Tire) that got it wrong in the first place! I asked them for another place, and I'm picking up the car today. I probably could have made a stink and got the first place to do it again, but I don't like having people work on my car that I just pissed off...
