What's the deal with the back of the p5! It's like a freakin dirt magnet, the only place on the entire car that collects dirt is from under the rear spoiler all the way down the rear window and on top of the bumper. Why? is there any cure for this cause it pisses me off.

Airfow.
You can try a different roof spoiler, but I doubt it will help.

That's just abt every car. My girlfriend's Civic Coupe is the same way (back window to top of bumper).

washed her on saturday. yeah.

A good coat of wax and RainX will allow you to rinse the back off with better results. Any vehicle with a mostly vertical back end will pick up dirt. A vaccum is created behind the car when the car moves and air is forced up from below... and there you go... more dirt. Happened with my Civic wagon, GTI and Xterra. If you can find a spoiler that will direct air down from the top of the Protege5 it would help, but so far I haven't seen any. Besides, it would be ugly. You've probably seen those tacked on spoilers that sit at about a 45 degree angle to force the air down... function over form.

Don't see a reason for such harsh language... it's not the dirt's fault. Blame it on physics.

And black cars don't get dirtier faster, they just show it more ;) Yeah, you have to clean it more often to keep it looking nice, but that's a good thing for the car's finish. If I wait until my white Miata looks dirty to clean it, it's a pain to scrub up.

Yup, keep the car waxed well and keep a duster brush in the trunk. If your car's finish is smooth (waxed), the dust and dirt that builds up will wipe off no problem with a car duster. That way, you can keep your car looking like you just washed it with about 5 minutes of work a week, as long as it doesn't rain.

sucks for me, I live on a dirt road, which is why I went with white. Today I wash my car, but tonight there is a decent fire burning and the winds were blowing, damn car COVERED in ASH. (bang)

LOL so all last night I was working on my car with the windows down, and I guess shittons of ash go into my car, I turned the AC on and ash just poured out of the vents, or got blown off wherever that crap was laying. bah.

So true !! - Seriously, invest in a California duster and some of those "Glosser" car wash wipes. I hardly ever need to wet wash the car, just dust it off and spend a couple minutes wiping it down with the glosser wipes -(which also lay down a wax as you wipe). Great stuff.
