I am sooo freakin sick of my header. I love the gains and whatnot but it sits against the metal cover of the fan and vibrates metal to metal all damn day. It only does it when I am idling and it hits a resonating frequency, if you will, at 2100 rpms where it really goes nuts.

Any of you guys that have AWR's header have this problem?

I don't want to buy a new fan assembly.

Hey Moose, I have the AWR header, but that is one problem I dont have, thank god. Mine is about 3 inches from the fan. Maybe your exhaust hangers are pushing it towards the fan? Or maybe your midpipe is too long (is it stock)? Heck if I know.

Sorry Im not more help

i just installed my AWR header last week and it rest right up against the metal shield on the back of the fan...i am considering buying a flex-a-lite slim line fan that way there is some clearance

if there was something wrong under the car, the header flange would not bolt up to the head correctly. I also installed a full 2.25" exhaust from the header back...the header is bolted to the head correct, the tubing extends a long ways out from the head.

I will try and post a pic soon...that might help (shrug)

If I'm not mistaken, the AWR is individually handmade, isn't it? So having different angles from the exhaust flang or whatever is causing it to be up on the fan wouldnt be incredibly unusual, would it? Like different guys make different headers? Just a guess.

You can put some exhaust wrap on the part thats touching. Or just wrap the whole Header in heat wrap. Keep heat down, and will stop the metal to metal banging.

But i experience the metal clanging with my exhaust, but its my hangers since my flexpipe is nonexistent, it moves around a bit. BUt ill live with it it doesnt clang too much.

Yeah, definately some quality control issues with AWR. But I can't believe there is a 3 inch difference with the header.

I did have a b**** of a time getting it in. The mid-pipe hook up was tightened up all the way just to get it to close up the seal and we had to remove the fan just to get the header in position. I'll try and get you guys a picture up this weekend.

moose i had the same problem, and i thought i was the only one. Everyone else with this expensive mofo was like nah mine isnt close to the fan at all. I wonder if they make two different ones. Like one for a stock car and one for a modded car or something, cause all of the ones i have seen in person are like someone said above, its like 3-5 inches from the fan shield. Mine was so bad i almost took it off and sent it back(should have, but i wanted it for a show) I actually took the damn heat shield off the fan and it still hit, so i ghetto fabbed up some new radiator brackets that pull it foward like 1/2 inch or so. Lemme see if i have some pics.

EDIT-heres some pics. one is my car(the one with the longer primaries obviously, and then jeremys car (upsman))

Thats good news. I thought about tilting the radiator like that but even pushed as the way forward it still rubs hardcore. Hit me up with some pics.

Ok, I take it back. Maybe not 3 inches from the fan (see pics).

Ahh..could be just quality control issues then. No header is made perfect. And judging from pics..betweent the ones that rub and dont' rub, there isn't that much difference..like an inch. Well..maybe AWR needs to measure tubing lengths better.
