Extremely fast pad wear...3000 miles

I read the other threads about early pad wear and it seems they last 20k miles. I did the rear pads on my MSP 8 weeks/3500 mi ago and they are completely shot already. The pads were 2x more than the ones for my G6 but I know MSP's require expensive gear. Its seems to me though that there is more of an underlying issue here. Any thoughts???

Thanks

What brand and compound? Did your calipers slide easily when you replaced the pads? Did you lube the pins with caliper grease?

I got almost 60,000 KM's on my OEM rear pads.

There's definitely a problem here.

are the calipers sticking? is the pad wear even? are the out board pads worn the same amount as the in board pad? when you jack up the rear wheels do they spin freely? is your parking brake functioning properly?

pad wear on the drivers side is worse but not by much. i know that finding the oem pads for the msp was not an easy task. everywhere i went had the same listing except the pads were way to small. i ended up with the pads for the mazda 6 but I have no idea what brand or compound they were. how much should the oem pads cost???

also people tell me the piston should have gone in really easily. this was not the case at all. i dont know if this has anything to do with it or not

Did you take off the brake booster fluid cap when you pushed in the piston?

I got a 104,000 miles out of my stock front MSP pads.
The rears are still good at 120,000 and the front has EBC reds.
Now my motor however, :(

Man I don't see how you can get that many miles on pads, especially the rears. Probably highway miles primarily to roll that high. I swapped mine out at 64,000 and the rears were almost shot, plenty left on the fronts though. Currently using the Satisfied Pro Ceramic pads on it.
