Exhaust mods

Hey all,

First off, I'm new to this forum, so this is my 'hello'. I'm currently driving a '91 Civic hatch and my next car is definitely a Protege5. I figure I'll wait for the 2003's and see if anything changes before taking the plunge.

I'm looking for opinions on exhaust mods. Anyone got numbers on the Bosal or Racing Beat cat backs, or know of any other makes out there?

The 2 you names are fine, but be aware that the MP3 exhaust will not bolt directly on to the P5. The Racing Beat muffler will stick out about 6-8' inches. You'll have modify the P5's exhaust to make the Racing Beat fit. The Bosal shares the same problem I believe. I'm not sure if the have a Protege 5 specific exhaust available in the this side of the pond. I do know they have a few in Japan, but you be paying some high prices to get them here. JIC is about the nices ones available right now.

Yep...Bosal makes a cat-back that is 100% polished stainless steel....and it fits the P-5 like a glove....and it sounds great as well....here is what it looks like:

Racing Beat...

Racing Beat makes a cat-back exhaust for both the LX/ES 2.0 liter and the Protege 5. You don't want the MP3 exhaust because it is the same diameter as the stock Protege exhaust.

The Racing Beat exhaust is bigger than the stock Protege exhaust.

Remember, the only part of the MP3 exhaust that is from Racing Beat is the muffler, which is a two inch diameter piece.

The cat-back system from Racing Beat is 90 mm, or something like that, in diameter. Personally, I would get the Racing Beat exhaust over the Bosal, but that is just MHO...

Does anyone have verifiable performance gains from their catback?
