ok so apparently my exhaust manifold is cracked..i was hoping to replace it with aftermarket either another manifold or a header, but is the MAM manifold the only option i can go with?? looks sweet but it is 1000$..any feedback

At the moment it appears MAM has the only manifold that works as a direct replacement.

ya the MAM is sweet i just dont have a grand right now...any idea how much the stock manifold is? also anyone know how this was caused?

I don't know the answers to your other questions. You have a pic of the damage? I'm interested in seeing how it cracked.

The MAM manifold is the only direct replacement for the stock one. HiBoost also makes a cast manifold for the MSP but it's set up for an external wastegate, you'll need to rotate your turbo, redo oil and coolent lines running to your turbo, and I think it requires a new turbo-->IC pipe.

Get some pics of your damage and list your mods. Since you seem to be the first with this problem I assume it's due to heat stress. Do you have a vented hood? Have you removed your heat shield?

I think MAM is running a sale on the mani right now for $875 if that helps. Not that I have $875 laying around or anything, but maybe you do.

Otherwise you might want to try some of the members that have replaced theirs...505zoom comes to mind. They might sell you their stock one for less than the dealership.

I'd get one from a junkyard. Even if your particular yard doesn't have one, they can order one from another place via internet.

#1: The regular 2.0 header is not designed to support the weight of the turbo. It would most likely crack.

#2: If you look at how close the turbo mounts to the block there is really no way to make that work without relocating your turbo and all associated piping. Even if it were possible, it's not worth it.

MAM and Protege Garage are running a group buy for the manifolds in the next few weeks. Why buy someone's used manifold and risk it cracking again? That would suck considering it is a bit of a PITA to install.

Check out the sticky in the Mental Addiction section. Beau said he is waiting for them to come back from coating. I'm not sure on the expected price.

I did it in five hours, but I was drinking the whole time. If you have never done it allow for five hours. If you don't know what you're doing maybe six. It's the same as doing your S-pipe the long way. If you can, I would do the DP, GT28rs (if you ever plan on upgrading turbos), and manifold at the same time.

go to spdracing.com and call them up i know that they make one it looks nice and its only $650 they are really nice guys so see what they say
