Exhaust Leak?

So, I just finished replacing the wastegate actuator with the ATP version, and although my car holds boost much better, I'm still having this damn idle problem. I've been noticing that when I let off the gas, I can hear a distinct whistling noise (although I'm not sure exactly where it's coming from), as well as when I first start it up. Also, when I shift into neutral, the RPM's dip extremely low (to about 200-300 RPM), almost killing it, and then going back up to around 800. Thinking it could be an exhaust leak? Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

So, just finished smoking my car for leaks and found none. Only thing we found was a small amount of smoke being released from a missing stud on the exhaust manifold. Would this be enough to cause a bad idle?

Yes it can I have a stud that is broke off and it does leak there just enough to bother me

Exhaust leak will not cause your idle issue. My car did the same thing, rerouted the maf and its good.

If you run the Seafoam through your brakeboost line, the smoke created will be released through possible cracks in the hosing/manifold, etc.

No, all the Seafoam converts into a smoke and exits through your exhaust pipe. Should only take about 30 minutes to finish the whole process.

would that be the same way if i was to do it through my vac lines ? cuz i know a lot of people use seafoam for that to, and wasnt sure how save it was... i normaly just put it in the gas tank...

Yup, exact same concept. I just dropped about 1/3 to 1/2 a can into the brake booster line with running (have someone rev the engine to keep it from dying), turn it off and let it sit for about 10 to 15 minutes, turn it back on and have someone rev it up again while another looks for any signs of the smoke anywhere in the engine bay/exhaust piping. The smoke should clear after running the car for about 20 minutes.

GL on this brother, I have that same problem as you. I have changed all my VAC lines and I still haven't figured it out. Checked out the hot and cold pipe for cracks. Right now I'm about to change the spark plugs and see whats happening :-(

I had the same issue and I replaced the vac lines and WGA and it fixed it. I think I also cleaned the MAF sensor and EGR valve

I'll have to give that a try this weekend, thanks for the help
