Excessive Exhaust Droning from Mazda Sport Exhaust

I have the mazda sport exhaust that was offered as a DIO (i'm told it was a mazdaspeed part), and have been experiencing a lot of droning from it (more so than i have had with performance exhausts on my previous vehicles).
Does anyone else have the same exhaust and notice the same problem? It's been driving my wife crazy, but i can live with it.

For those with other exhausts, what is your experience with the other exhaust options on the market; what have you tried that yielded a performance increase without making the ride uncomfortably noisy?

just put in 1 or 2 inline resonators.

with my 2.5" system (NA), with 2 resonators and a silencer in the muffler it's no louder than stock.

Yes it is. You want it to be less "drone" take out the resonator. It will be louder, but less "drone"

I had it with the turbo and this exhaust is meant to be LOUD if not using resonators/cats.

VERY LOUD.

or you can line the trunk with noise insullation material like dynamat or b-quiet

i had the same problem with my exhaust...droning at highway speeds, i covered my trunk area with b-quiet and now the exhaust is much more quiet. that stuff really helps(yes)

That exhaust sounds great but it does drone a little bit on the highway. A little dynamat in the rear hatch area made a nice difference for me.

EDIT: what he said^^^ :D

I've had mine on for almost two weeks now. It was quite loud at first but now I'm used to it. I barely notice the drone down the highway but I plan on trying dynamat also in the trunk. And I just play the radio a little louder.

I also had droning problems at freeway speeds and being that I was on the freeway most of the time, I sold it had got the Racing Beat cat-back. Much, much better!
