but actually now that i think of it the new mitsubishi evolution rs is comin soon and it does a 4.4 0-60 instead of a 4.9 or whatever and it doesnt have the hideous wing. it also starts at 26k so youll be faster than both evo and sti and save some money with the rs it by the way has the same motor as the evo does its just lighter and a more raced out version no stereo or air conditioning i think.

Alright from personal opinion. I would get the STI better look inside it looks like a sports car. Evo looks just like the lancer on the inside not much extra done. Dont get me wrong both cars are fricken awesome just like the inside better when it comes down to STI or Evo. As for the discussion about the SRT-4. Good for dodge and then again why????????? They make fricken good trucks yeah, but cars no. No matter what they do it will always be a neon, and that sucks. Ok its fast, but its just a neon. When i spend 20 grand and up on a car i want it to last awhile. If you buy a neon your not getting the reliability of any Japanese car. Thats all i got to say.

Dude i've seen a stock srt4 take a stock STI from a roll. I'd personally buy the srt4, actually the build quality is not crap. Neons get a bad rap because the 95-98 neons almost all leaked oil because of the crappy head gasket. I had a 2001 neon before my msp, and I beat the s*** out of that thing and it never gave me 1 problem in 60,xxx miles. I had it modded, sprayed a 75 shot on stock interals all the time. So don't give me that bs that the build quality sucks because I know from experience it doesn't. But if your mind is set on an Evo or STI get the STI. Oh and I can get a brand new evo around here for 27k.

whoa some domestic lovers here i see. All i was saying is i personally dont trust a dodge or any american car. Thats all. Easy all friends here. SRT-4 has a huge shifter looks like a fricken truck i mean thats just one thing i hate. Its like why would you spend the money on a car no one really is like holly s*** theres a dodge neon turbo, when you could buy a STI and everyone would s*** there pants as you drive by. Thats all.

I'd go for the STI.

I'm actually trying to get a second job right now. If this goes through, I will increase my annual income from 42k to a little over 73k a year.

If it happens, I'm paying off my protege (still owe roughly 13k) and saving up to buy an STi. Then I'm going to have the good sense to not mess with it.

see, the thing is, the evo's in north america dont' have the super active yaw control like the ones in the UK, that's the only reason that makes the EVO so fast a track car. so, i'd get the STI and take the 300hp, with active diffs'n intercooler spray buttons, and the better interior. (the evo has the spray button too but with the gear box you can't really tell where u are sometimes if yur rushed....

ps. about the SRT-4, good luck driving that 2.4L 215hp in the winter with that FWD,
as oppose to 2.5L 300hp with active center diff that lets you shift power from 50/50 AWD to 40/60 AWD.

hey guys i dont care what you say a neon running one bar+ of boost from the factory is going to blow the fu** up period, just wait until they have been out long enough for them to start developing bad problems. i dont care if you were spraying a 100 shot! your car was rare because i garuntee if anyone else w/ that motor and car it would have blown w/out a doubt in my mind what-so-ever! yes there fast but unless you plan on going in a straight line down a stupid track for the rest of your life steer clear of these disasters waiting to happen PLEASE!

actually isnt the srt running a slightly tuned up version of a pt cruiser turbo motor. man so it has a crappy neon look w/ a crappy pt cruiser motor! how can people like this horrendous car.

i'd get an sti.... or an evo.. I LOVE my msp SOOO much.. but its really not in the same league as the evo or sti... it'll hang with the srt or the wrx, but not evo or sti..

Well I have already said what I think of the srt4, so all you dodge haters keep bashing them all you want. I think its a good car at a good price, simple as that.

O.K. so the ones that have so totally dissed the SRT-4 honest Que. HAVE YOU EVER DRIVEN OR OWNED AN SRT-4??? have you ever read anything about the SRT??? the SRT is only sharing the skin of the NEON. the Suspension is totally different, the Engine went through several years of harsh testing , which by the way the stock crank and block is said and TESTED to hold 1000hp!!! don't see that in the MSP. Lets talk suspension you have TOKICO shocks so what so do we Your point is. And how many complaints have you guys had in the MP3 and the MSP for suspention squeek etc. I bet you that we have less comlpaints for our whole car than you have had for the suspention alone not counting the turbo lag problems etc. etc.
Oh and By the way I now own an SRT,Solar yellow to be exact. and love every bit of it. I now have a FACTORY BACKED upgrade in stage 1, which for the misinformed is a PCM and bigger injectors, it alone added 30 HP for 300 bucks can't beat it. SO any other complaints, I would be glad to take them all!!!! so bring on the SRT bashing just don't use the lame excuse of it being a NEON cause your car is just a protege also!!
