Evil M horn ring on 2016 CX-5

On my 2016 CX-5, looking to change my OEM horn ring to an Evil M. I don't want to remove and cut it up like I did to my rear badge (that came out great IMO but I'm biased). Thinking about just using a black gloss marker or a "paint" marker. Anyone else do this little mod? Any other suggestions on how to get this done in a sleek manner?

I wouldn't mess with anything on the airbag. You don't want to add anything there and have it shoot into your face if the airbag deploys.

I realize that the whole idea of mods is to customize to one's liking, but to swap out a horn ring that only you and the passenger will see (and the passenger doesn't give a hoot) seems like am unneeded exercise.

I agree. So I ended up using some black electric tape to blackout the pieces to generate the Evil M. Came out nice!
