I'm kind of curious why you're so worried about speeding tickets, that you would go to such extraordinary measures to buy Skytrak?

Are you one of those who intentionally, willfully, exceeds posted speed limits?

Most of us probably exceed speed limits on occasion, but you? (uhm)

A while ago I had posted a thread on here about a device that would allow me to track the vehicle speed with precision accuracy as well as time, location and hell now even gps coordinates. I am happy to announced that I managed to find a such device that incoorporates with my existing car alarm.

No monthly fee nada so now when a cop tries to be slick and give you a summons for speeding but yet you happen to be either under or travelling at the speed limit you have evidence to back you up. See the reason I am posting this is because I don't know about some of you but here in the lovely garden state we have the most currupted cops per capital primarly the NJ State Police. They hand out tickets as if you where going to a drive thru.

It looks like (from his post) that he wants a way of proving when he is not speeding. From Jersey, so I know the feeling...

My guess is that the judge will just throw that out. But more power to you if you can get it to work.

No my record is clean I had two previous cases thrown out one was for an officer telling me I made a left and did not pay attention to the sign (invisible sign) so the summons was for something to the effect of disregarding the sign. I had to not only take pictures of the intersection. Measure out distance from all 4 corner angles. All to proove in 5hrs of court that 1 he made a false statement under oath. 2nd there is no sign in that intersection that states you cannot make a left from the hours of 8am-10am

the second incident was not so nice as this one I was accused of speeding doing 70mph in a 35mph I was dragged out of my car in front of my nephew searched the vehicle given two summons one for speeding the other for wreckless driving the proof was someone came out as a witness a gentleman who happens to be a gas station attendant from accross the road that witnessed all of this and at the time i was the only vehicle on that road so hence a car in dead silence neighborhood traveling at that speed you will hear it coming he testified case thrown out officer suspended.

These are the reasons why I feel in this state there is no justice system this is why I see this being as an aid to those of us who are fed up with currupted politicians, officers of the law etc.handing out fictious summons harrasing us for no reason. Call it what you want but if it helps me out in court then why oppose it? unless you like to pay hefty fines and points on your record

LOL this is just too damn funny. Dude... did you even bother to read his post or what? Why the hell would he want to spend $400 on something that records how fast he's going if he likes to speed?

I can just see it now...

...knock knock... "Do you know how fast you were driving?"

"umm...."

"75 in a 40 asshole!"

"Well, actually officer, according to this device I just bought, I was actually going 84. Oh... you're right. you pulled me over at 7:06 and I was looking at my speed at 7:04."

All kidding aside, this is actually a really good idea. Kind of like a blackbox for your car. Would I spend that kind of dough on it? No way! But then again, knock on wood, I haven't had any trouble with the law.

I didn't bother to read up on this thing too much but... if they expect to sell these, they have to have some type of guarantee. I can totally see a judge throwin this out.

nice...and im not saying i dont speed...he just wants a solution to his problem...if the speedo doesnt go over the speed limit then you wont get a ticket :D

I got pulled over in NJ doing 55 in a 50 (yes, I was speeding), but I got a ticket for doing 80 in a 50.

umm... ok. So what about when you're NOT speeding.. yet get pulled over anyway? Maybe the cop's radar beam was off... maybe he just doesn't like your car... or you!

Years ago, I was pulled over for speeding on the hwy. I was in the flow of traffic but, for whatever reason, officer s*** for brains decided to pull me and my pos saturn L200 over. I'll be the first to admit (to you guys at least) that I was speeding. He had me down as 72 (at the time the speed limit was 55) but I was probably closer to 75. Even still, I went to court and (per the advice of my brother-in-law) insisted I wasn't speeding and mentioned how crowded the hwy was. I the asked what type of device was used to register my speed. Once I did that, my ticket was basically torn up. I was only 18 at the time and didn't really know any better... now that I do, it's obvious that homeboy hit me with a radar gun and not a laser (which is a lot more accurate)

Bottom line: Though it's probably not all that common (at least I hope not) I'm sure people get wrongfully pulled over for speeding... when they weren't speeding! Are you going to tell that peson they wouldn't have received a ticket if they hadn't been speeding?

I totally agree with you dont speed you wouldnt have problems
this didnt help me much at those two times yes i did have a different car but I hope my point was not taken out of context all i am saying is i think its a good idea like i said you buy the product its like a black box records even down to the streets you went on and this service is free for life of the unit. seems cheap to me compared to other units who require a monthly fee. which in the long run it will cost you more

BTW, dirty little secret...all new vehicles have a "blackbox". Keeps track of your driving conditions, etc, so in case of accident, it can be removed for investigation. So, if you're speeding, you're nailed, anyway.

Later, Vince.
