Everybody with Grinding/Pulsating brakes needs to view this.

while breaking about 15mph you get a sliding sound like your sliding on dirt. (No there is no dirt) The grinding pulsating sound happens inconstantly but it happens and it pisses me off too.
mazda has to do something about this, can't be safe

OMG, that is so ******* annoying! I had my brakes re-surfaced at 5k! now i have 12k and they are worse then before, and the dealer doesnt seem to care. I get the pulsations at like 20 mph and slower when braking and horrid wheel shake at any other speed plus the whirring/grinding sound all the time. Euro spec brakes my asshole. Im getting cross drillds soon if they dont fix this crap. Very annoying. Maybe we are all just so picky that no car will ever be good enough. It seems like all of us MSP owners luv problems. I luv the car but these are all stupid little quirks that shouldnt have to be tolerated in ANY CAR.

I have the same situation. noise while breaking under 20ish. I had my rotors replaced months ago. I only have about 9k on my car.

You bought new rotors, or the dealer replaced them?...did it help?

I had this problem since the beginning too but now when they heat up and i hit them moderately from like 70-80mph my whole steering wheel shakes!!(pissed) I knew we all had the same probs with the brakes since I read it here so I tried once with the dealer and guess whats on my printout "grinding/shaking on brakes not duplicated" WELL NO s*** go drive the hell out the car and it will be duplicated. Im thinking its crappy rotors on the MSP...yeah their bigger than a regular Pro's rotors or most in its class, but that doesnt mean theyre better

well going 80mph and then braking, i would expect some vibration and steering wheel shaking...we're not driving a bmw...

If it's doing it at low speeds I really doubt it's the rotors. Rotors you usually feel at higher speeds (like the post above). Check the shims and that stuff.

Yeah my old Probe SE turbo going past 80 and hitting the brakes never had that problem except one time. Thats when I decided to have someone touch the car and do a brakejob. Well their machine did not resurface my rotors well. Took it back, they took it to a different machine and whoala!!! NO more crazy wheel shake at high speeds but I must say I do have grinding at very slow speeds as well. I noticed the grinding just moving forward in line at Mcdonalds. :( I dont know about you guys but im just thinking of going aftermarket although I feel Mazda should fix this problem. A brand new car shouldnt have brake grinding so early.

mines only grinds when i'm braking on an incline and my car is angled, like a when truning to go up a hill or drive ways ect. it's been doing that since the day i gott it but i just figured the ABS was made to sensitive.

Mr. Law -
I did not buy new rotors. My dealership wanted to scrape them down and I told them no way on my car with 3000 miles are you going to do that. I insisted they replace the bad rotors. They did under warr. They were great for about 3 or 4 K now I get the noise.

My brakes feel weird/sloppy sometimes... like the car is breaking inconsistently..

Mine feel the same way, the front of the car feels like it shakes as it comes to a stop as well.

Well no offense to anyone but my brakes are KICKASS!
I have had nothing but great performance out of them and have put 36,000 miles on the car so far. I just had them inspected by Mazda during a service check and everything got passing marks.
The only time the ABS kicks on is when I am going down a really steep decline in the parking garage and I have to stop quickly. Well that and when it's wet out and I stand on them.

Make no mistake guys the pulsating is different from the unusual noise. The pulsating is rotors that are not flat. The noise can be taken care of with the special greasey stuff on the back of the pads.

This is bulls***!!!!!!!! I'm calling Mazda north america today. I've got the same problems with the ******* brakes. So here I go back to the same dealer again.

Just got off the phone with Mazda North America and I have to go to another dealer for my brake assesment. This is the third time with the same problem. Now I have just typed up a letter to mazda north america about the cont. problem. If this dealer doesn't fix the problem with the brakes then they are buying the ****** s*** back. (period)
