Anyone know a provider that will make a EU-wide insurance ? Without having to take the car for pictures.

Where in the EU are you based? Most UK insures cover you for 30-45 days at a time outside the UK. Ive never heard of taking a car for pictures

I can only tell you how it is in Norway:
I may get asked to show the car to the insurance company or take pictures with todays newspaper if I want full coverage on a used car that did not have full coverage before, but that has nothing to do with insuring the car outside Norway. Here all insurance is for all of Europe, but may not contain roadside assistance.

It is adviced to pick up the "Green slip" from your insurance company before leaving the country, it's basicly a translation with your insurance details.
