Hey all,

I was just curious to know how many ETS TMIC users do not put the shroud on the intercooler? Do you notice any difference in BAT with it on and with it off just trying to compare my BAT temp readings on my DH.

I suppose most of us are running 3.25?

Thanks.

Thanks i knew that, the point is to see if the shroud really helps the air push through the intercooler and not over and around like it would without the shroud in place.

The air goes through the grill up over the IC via the dutcting. Shroud doesn't hinder anything.

I didn't have the shroud on for about 2 months when I had my TMIC. It didn't fit properly. Then I got a new shroud and put it on. My temps didn't change.

Not sure if I understand what you are suggesting. Are you saying the shroud may "seal" with the plastic ducting that sits on top? Thus preventing air from escaping out the sides. . . I doubt it.

That's the whole purpose of the shroud, it's designed to force the air to go through the intercooler and not let the natural pressure "go to waste"

question when upgrading to ETS TMIC do you need to get cobb AP? I just want to know if its safe to get TMIC with just CAI.

need is a strong word. No you dont NEED it, but it would be suggested. The AP will help you get the most out of the TMIC. I have the 3.25 and have not gotten an AP yet. I am sure I am not getting its full potential, but it certainly is not hurting anything.

Thanks I've been looking around been it seems that they have been backordered since May.

at any given time if you compare the Stock TMIC to the ETS, there is nothing but good that can come of it. I have the Hypertech reflash and with it the car on low end seems to loose a bit of umph, but upper..........holllllly hell it pulls all the way up to 7200 RPM and that's all she wrote.

oh and NO you don't need to have an AP, it's all about lowering the boost air temps, lower means more power period.

TMIC will definately raise your boost psi, it did mine for sure almost 3 psi, but I am tuned.

I was already spiking at 19 and holding at 16, the TMIC didnt change the boost too much, but with a tune, I am sure I will see a small change.
