Ok, I've read several place that "it's coming... it's coming..."

but no one has a date that I've seen... Can anyone add to this?

I'm thinking of upgrading the P5 to a 6 sometime in the reasonable future, but only if I can get the wagon.. (quirky thing spoiled me)

anyone? specs? pricing?

I have been trying to find out the same thing. I'm still trying to find an "official" status, but here is what I have heard:

1. Someone on the internet said Feb or Mar 2004

2. Someone on the internet said Aug 2004

3. Clueless salesman at local dealer said "this fall" tonight. I don't believe him

While at the dealer I drove a 6s sedan (first time). I was a bit, ah, unimpressed with the torque. Expected a bit more. And what's up with the quirky throttle response? Dead at idle, and too lively when cruising... Ah, well. The suspension tuning and turn-in response kicks ass.

Also drove an RX8. Mmmmm, good stuff. Handles like my Miata.

Off to test drive a Passat GLX V6 5-speed wagon tomorrow :)

Flat Rock begins Mazda6 hatch and wagon production in late Jan-Feb. '04. This has been confirmed by both MazdaUSA and the plant union.

So with production starting in Jan-Feb '04, expect US dealers to start having them by Mar '04.

Canada will also get these bodystyles, but Mazda Canada has not provided a timeframe as of yet.

ah.. real info! a 1st!

well if they begin production is 1Q04, I really wouldn't expect too see them on dealer lots until about Apr/May, but thanks!

Anyone have any info on pricing? Will we get a 5spd version?

Just got a response from my email. I am going to reply and ask about the 5-speed:

Dear Michael,

Thanks for your interest in the upcoming MAZDA6! Mazda will be
launching the MAZDA6 hatchback and wagon in the U.S. first quarter of
2004. Unfortunately, we don't have any specific information on these
vehicles at this time.

I recommend visiting www.mazdausa.com for updates on upcoming
vehicles, including the MAZDA6 Wagon and Hatchback as their releases
near.

Again, thank you for contacting Mazda. It has been my pleasure to
assist you. If for any reason this response has not completely
satisfied you, please feel free to reply to this message. You may also
