Escort ZR3 Laser Shifter

Laser "Shifters" are perfectly leagal due to the fact that lasers are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. Active Radar Jammers are howerver NOT legal.

It finally went off this morning on the way home from work, while I was in traffic. :wtf: Don't know why any officer would fire lidar on a car in the middle of slow, bumper-to-bumper traffic? Nonetheless, I looked at the display of my Passport 8500, and sure enough it was "shifting." It read: "F Shifting" and then "R Shifting" telling me that it was doing both front and rear shifting. Now I know it works, but now does it work? LOL!
 
I just thought about something...many times emergency vehicles will set off the laser alert with all the flashing lights. I don't remember seeing one though. (scratch)

Yeah, most police cruisers are equipped with X, K, and occasionally Ka Band Radar Guns. Laser Radar guns are much more expensive and difficult to use properly. Using a Laser Gun properly requires a proper positioning of the vehicle - etc. I don't remember all of it, but a few of my friends are cops, and they always tell me that the laser guns are great, but a great pain in the ass also.

Hey, if nothing else, it's a very kewl toy to own. I've paid more for things that I use less.

Most around here are equipped with K and KA. X is disabled on my Passport 8500 becuase its used for motion detectors and such, and never a police cruiser. A lot of the motorcycle police have LIDAR. A deadly combo if you ask me... Highly unvisible, and LIDAR! (nervous)
 
Hey patrick, you wanna test it out, come to my work, ill talk to some cops to laser ya. I had them test all my radar detectors :).

call me up during the week.
 
That may bee cool. You know, on the way to my Dad's house about 20 minutes ago, I was driving thru the same area on Cooper where I got my ticket, and sure enough the shifter kicked in. I never did see where the cops were. I wonder...
 
Ok, Moeed and I had a local officer test out the ZR3 Shifter with a Lidar gun. Pictures and results later when I get to a faster connection.
 
Any updates? Also, do you have any more info on the 8500 x50 Blue? How has it worked so far?

this is PERFECT! I have been decidding which jammer to buy and i wanted this one because i have a Solo S2. I just have to figure out where I could mount these with my FMIC. Maybe in the two "brake vents" on the 03.5's? What are you thoughts linux? Possible, and still effective?
