Just test fitting my erebuni sideskirts, they are replicas of the mintblue sideskirts in Japan =) So far, so good, I bolted it on along the sides in the fender, and in the rear dogleg area. I set the screws in a little so I can bondo over it and you wont see them anymore. So, What do you think of this style skirt with the wingswest bumper? =)

I'm painting it monday (tomorrow) so don't worry about how it looks right now paintwise, lol, then I'll take ore pictures

i like it, maybe if possible can we get a lower angle shot with more of the front bumper. just so we can see how it goes.

but it looks tight

i dunno man, i think it breaks up what the ww bumper lays down...the "lines" coming from in front of the wheel well, wont match up with the skirts.

seen it in person and i like it!! IMHO, it flows nicely, the WW skirts are too "fighter jet" for me.

my erebuni rear apron doesn't fit at all, for some reason. Not sure how you are supposed to modify the rear bumper to make it fit, so it is off til I know how... oh and by the way, funny how you take off the side skirts... you just place both hands on the underside of it, and pull.... they snap off. So, mx3, if you are planning on stealing some... :D

also something cool I noticed is, when I got my wider rims, the tires stuck out a little as the sideskirts curved down, but now, my skirts flare out at either end and tuck the rims back in the airflow, and the WW bumper does that for the fronts =) Not saying I can go faster, it just almost passes as functional. Although it made my car about 2" off the groudn now, as opposed to 5

im dying for some painted pics. and did you figure out the rear bumper?

talking to erebuni, apparently you have to chop the rear bumper in half and attach the bumper on the underside of it, or something... we'll see if they respond to the email

did some bodywork today on the sideskirt, built a rubber grommet to make it not rattle against the door jams, and trimmed it down to not sit in the doors, tomorrow I have to do the same to the other side, then fiberglass a small gap in the skirts, then after that I'm gonna bondo over the screws flush, then prep and paint. So actually, I may not have paint pics til thursday or friday, sorry guys. =)

so far Erebuni has responded very quickly with emails, here is what I got so far:

Hey,

I recently bought a erebuni kit from you guys, for my 2002 mazda protege5, the 123B series, that comes with sideskirts and a rear apron. I had to make only minor modifications to get the sideskirts to fit, but apparently you have to drastically modify the stock rear bumper on my car to fit the erebuni bumper, do you guys have any information on what kind of mods? Like, do I chop the bumper in half, or what? I'd appreciate and customer service you can give me, thanks.

THEM:

The bottom section of your factory bumper cover will prevent you from installing our RA therefore you need to cut the parts of the lower section of your cover that interfere with the installation of our RA. Then you need to bond on our RA onto your bumper using epoxy and screws. If you have any further questions please contact our tech department at the number below.

ME:

well I test fitted the erebuni rear apron over my stock bumper and it ended up looking like it was 4-5" too short on one side to reach the fender well area. I'm not about to cut the bottom half of my bumper off until I know it will fit just right.

THEM:

Please e-mail us a picture of our RA up against your rear bumpr so we can see what you are talking about. As you know this kit is made for the Japan spec Mazda 323 which has different bumpers then the Portege 5 however our customers in the past have been able to install our RA on their Protege 5 bumper by cutting the bottom section of their bumper cover. We don't have first hand knowledge in that, we are just passing on to you information that we have from past customers. We would also not want you to do anything to the RA if you think you can not do it, since you can not return the RA if you do anything to it. Please include your phone number with the next e-mail that would have the pictures and someone from our tech department will call you back. For any further info please contact our tech department at the number below.

looking very good. I like the sides, you gotta get a better pic from the side straight on to see the full effect once you get it all done. But i like how its comming along. (thumb)
