Engine Trouble....

I just had my solenoid purge valve replaced after yet another CEL on my MS3. Prior to that, I had the gas cap replaced, then the ECU reflashed, then the IMRC replaced (each a separate CEL and visit to the dealer).

Now when I start the car cold, it stutters and idles very rough. If I don't give it gas as it stutters, it will stall. I don't have a CEL with this one. I also smell gas when I start it.

I feel like this car is choking for lack of a better word. I really hope the MS3 doesn't turn out to be a POS with emissions and engine problems that never end. All I want is for the car to perform how it is supposed to. Any ideas?

have you recently reset your ecu? with my car and the mods i have if i reset the ecu it will do that the first couple of starts then it will be fine... is your car stock?

^ +1 to that. Couple winters ago i installed a CAI before i went to Utah. And with the cold weather it was doing that the first 3 times i started it up there.

then it stopped when i returned to LV.

sounds like bad gas or an injector not seated properly if it smells like gas in the engine bay

Take it to the dealer and have them take care of it etc. Most of the CELs recorded have caused no drivability problems so you're in the minority. Also sounds like you need to visit another dealer.
