Engine swap

Has anyone looked into this? I havnt really just started looking around about it. I looked at the jdm engines you can buy on the net and really there was one boosted that put out 170 hp.Thats not worth it.And the rest were sixes. Prolly the mazda speed engine but to me thats not worth the hassle either.. Rx-7 and 8 wouldnt fit. So what im really asking is am i stuck with this engine?

You can swap whatever you'd like, depending how deep your pockets go.

And the JDM one is not boosted. It is NA with high compression.
And the Mazdaspeed is the same engine internally as the Protege.

i was referring to these engines..I dont know much about engine swaps unless there hondas. But these are what i could find....Im new to mazda
I was a Honda guy too...with the Mazdas you're pretty much stuck with the FS-DE. What pisses me off even more, is there isn't even that many parts for it. Hell, i even found parts for my D15B7 without much work, even the crappy F series motors have tons of parts.

The KL-ZE can be done..It'll cost you a pretty penny. I was researching this forever, trying to find a bottom line..I wanted to be the first that did it..Then some asshat in oregon did it to a 2003 LX..Even but the limited slip on it..Bastard..

hm... gotta try that sometime if I get enough money to boost it but I rather boost my Mazda instead :)

There are kits for the F series motors but the company name totally escapes me right now.(boom08)

I blew my stock FS-DE in january, and just dropped in another stock motor (de), but beefed it up. Its pretty peppy, high rpms are alot more impressive. When i looked into the fs-ze, you'll need alot more than just the motor, you'll also need the ECU, harness, etc. So personally, i preferred the DE over the time, money, (and pain in the ass of always needing parts from japan). But if your a "baller", try something new. Good luck

I say drop the cash and drop in a gtr bpt motor 200 hp stock. You'll need custom everything but it would be worth it. If I blow up my motor I think I will atempt it

so the only difference between my p5 motor and the msp motor is the turbo and ECU?

I have a 1992 Plymouth Laser Turbo(4G63) And was thinking of swapping that engine into it. Was wondering if anyone has tried that before.
