Well as the title says I am planning (or hoping to plan) to have my engine rebuilt by a performance shop next winter. I haven't decided exactly who I want to go to yet, so I figured I would ask people who may have already had it done a few questions. First of all, about how much did it cost for people to have theirs rebuilt? I want to put in new pistons, rods, and bearings while they have it apart. I also plan to run somewhere between 350 to 400 wheel horsepower so if there is any other recommended engine components, please let me know. If anyone could share with me what they paid for the work I would really appreciate it. My second question is how long did it take for the install? Just would like to have an idea how long my car will be off the road for. My third question is, if I buy pistons with stock compression will I be able to run the stock turbo setup until I have enough money for the next step up turbo? For that question I'm pretty sure I could, I just want to rule it out as a possible problem. I just really want to get the engine rebuilt ASAP because of our seemingly weak factory connecting rods, and will do the turbo soon afterwards. Thank you for any and all help!
