What is the better buy or the best way to rid of the wheel hop on the speed protege?? Will side mount inserts from awr help, or does the front and rear do more? I believe the front and rear will do more, but there kinda expensive.
 
tough call, id definitely recommend the front and not the rear. the rear is an involved job and the front is fairly cheap. i havent used inserts but i cant imagine theyre as effective as a solid mount. so front + both sides.
 
I installed the front (other 3 stock) and it made a big difference. Then, installed the rear and it reduced wheel hop even more. Sides are still stock though. Thing is, I don't launch hard/often enough to feel a lot of wheel hop as I'm scare for my LSD lol.
 
I have front and rear AWR mounts and AWR side inserts and there is really a noticable difference. I will be getting solid side mounts soon. I can't comment on the wheelhop issue since I have never launched my car after I snapped my first diff.
 
I have lauched my car with the rear and front mount. It just spins it wont hop or anything like she use to.
 
I installed the SU front mount and it was def. worth it. I could tell quite a difference between it and the stock mount. I also just installed the SU side mounts. They added a little bit of vibration at idle, but its a fair trade off. My engine sits SOLID now! Running stock rear mount cause THATS GONNA BE A B*TCH TO GET TO!! Hope this helps.
 
I did the full SU engine mount kit in 62a duro. My motor does not move and 0 hop. only thing is since the motor doesn't move the rest of the car does lol. I daily drive mine and it doesn't bother me too much but its definitely a noticeable vibration in cabin change.
 
At idle you cant tell, or maybe just a little now when the AC is on its bad. Even at normal driving speeds you cant tell a difference.
 
so how is the vibration at idle?

the car rattles like hell when you first install the mounts especially during idle, pulling off from a stop and when the AC is on. I also could definitely feel the car start up too and the whole dash would rattle at low RPMs. After the mounts break in though, I don't really feel anything at all. my wife hates my car now but Im not building my car for comfort and she knows that..lol The vibrations don't bother me at all though. They are definitely an improvement over stock. Ken @ PG says he suggests the 88s as a middleground because the 70s won't feel as great as the 88s after breaking in.

By the way, this comparision is for the 88 durometer mounts
 
88 duro front mount and side inserts worked for me. as for vibs...it's nothing the bass from the stock sub doesn't over power. I have even more vibs then most since I have the stiffer corksport exhaust hangers and no flex pipe in the exhaust. Everything just shakes together.

Get the stiffest mounts you can get all the way around. I have the 95's front and rear and the inserts for the sides. I will get the replacement side mounts next.
 
damn!!! i cant decide on the 70 or the 88 duro!! i want something that will not have to much noticible vibration but something that will also hold up well as im plan on goin to the strip a good bit this summer. it is my daily also so i do want it to be comfortable
any imput will be apreciated
 
70 will be a great improvement. go with that 88 will probably be too much.

Also, if you're doing the front MM you might as well do the rear because the rear will be trashed in no time just running a better Front MM.

thanks!! and yea im goin to get the f&r mm from PG along with the inserts :) big build commin soon, will be posting thread sooner or later
