Engine Gets Sluggish @ 3000 rpm's

If the bolt is missing then its leaking. seafoam your engine and you will see it smoking. when you replace the bolt, expect another one to fall out shortly after.

Is there anything special I should be looking for in a replacement bolt? I should be able to get a replacement at like ACE hardware right? Should I just replace them all?

I would recommend replacing then all. Then torque them in sequence. Then you can set it and forget it.

I am a bit confused about the PDF file
-is it saying to torque them in order to 8 and then to 16, or top to 8 and bottom at 16? I think its the first but just wanted to make sure.

Torque them all in order as listed @ 8 ft lbs. Once that is done, go around (in order again) and torque them @ 16 ft lbs.
For s***'s n giggles', I always like to go around one more time at the final setting, but it's not necessary. Just for a safe precaution.

Gotcha. I will get this done and check back in with the results.

wtf do you find a torque wrench that goes that low?

lol.... for real. I checked out Home Depot and Lowes, but no luck. The guy at lowes suggested I check @ AutoZone or somewhere similar. I did find one on Walmart.com, dunno about the store tho.

btw.... OSAMA IS DEAD!!! YEAH!!!!!(cheerbanana)

Alright... So got my car back today! Alternator went out, but I got an aftermarket warranty when I bought the car, so was gonna use it to get the alternator replaced. Took it to the shop, and they did an inspection on it and found all these other things to fix under warranty. They replaced the Alternator, Upper and Lower Oil Pan Gaskets, and the turbo got replaced. About $5K worth of work. It's driving MUCH better now, but still gets sluggish around 3000 RPM. So, can rule out the turbo. Have not taken off the heat shield to see if they fixed the missing bolt on my exhaust manifold. Will prob look at that on SAT. Just wanted to give a short update. Attached photos of the new turbo.

Sorry to jump in but i have a 03 mazdaspeed and i did a engine swap and it skips until it gets to 3000 rpms and then runs normal, but the engine ran great before i installed it you think maybe mine needs flashed?

No, I bet you have a leak in the intake plumbing somewhere. Go double check your connections, everything from the MAF to the throtle body.
