engine dies on cold start?

:
2007 MAZDA SPEED3
wierd things happening with my 07 ms3 with 11,000 miles on it. on cold starts the engine will die right after i stop cranking if i dont give the engine a rev to about 2,500 rpm and hold it ther for a few seconds. after that it idles fine. when i take off it doesnt want to boost and then all of a sudden it starts spooling and runs fine. i have no cel's. and the dealer says they cant find anything wrong. i have a ms cai and a forge bypass valve. does anyone know whats goin on or having these same issues?

Take the valve off and push the piston up with your finger a few times to see if it is sticking. Do that a few times and then cap the vacuum port with your finger while the piston is pushed up, then let go of the piston while keeping your finger over the nipple. The piston should drop just a bit, if it drops all the way down the valve needs to be rebuilt. Let me know what happens...

I live in Minnesota and this has happened to me a couple times this winter. Just start it up again and its fine...I always thought it was because there was too much cold cold air (-15degrees) being sucked in. Let me know what you find out!

thanks,

I live in MN as well and hav never had this issue in cold weather. I would say something is definetly wrong. I agree, start putting stock parts back on and see if that helps, maybe the BPV or the intake is installed wrong or faulty.

bypass valve is not sticking i replaced it with stock bypass valve and still had the same starting problem. i thought purge valve as well but the dealer keeps saying they cant find anything wrong even though i told them i thought it was the purge valve... i think mazda is pullin my chain
