Engine cuts out for a split second when driving over bumps.

Does this happen to anyone else? Not all the time, but a lot of the time, when I drive over a decent sized bump in the road, the power cuts out to the engine for a second, then it comes back.

Mine does the same thing, still not sure what it is.

I thought it might have something to do with how sensitive the electric throttle is, but im not sure.

I feel the same problem ... its not as much as the engine cuts out, but that I can feel less power at that instant. I agree, its prob the e-throttle, but I was thinking it also maybe is the traction control kicking in .. maybe one wheel is spinning faster than another when you hit the bump, and the TC does its thing.

Either way, I have grown to live with it, and its more a minor nuisance than a problem

Perhaps its the traction control? As you come down off a large bump your wheels will temporarily have reduced contact with road as your suspension is deflecting back. This might be sensed as a loss of traction drawing power from your wheels? I dunno, just an idea.

edit** okay, so I just read the whole post before me, and got to the part where he mentioned the traction control. I guess I'm not so smart afterall ;)

Its the DSC (traction control) Turn it off. When ever a wheel leaves the ground like skipping over a large bump or over uneven pavement, the DSC will limit power making if feel like the engine is cutting. As soon as the wheel catches, it takes off again. I experienced the same thing, but now turning the DSC off whenever I get into the car (unless it is raining or snowing) is second nature, like putting on your seatbelt.
