Energizer AGM vs Duralast Platinum AGM battery

I have a 2021 CX-5 GT Turbo, located in Canada, and I need to replace my battery (Group 35) before winter. I have 2 same cost ($250) options:

Energizer AGM - Costco
Duralast Platinum AGM - Autozone

Is one better than the other? Which one would you recommend? Thanks!

I can't give a recommendation but an observation I had last winter. The AGM's at Costco had a gray casing ( I guess a lot of them have a gray casing now) and were made in Germany. Same with the AGM's at Walmart. Both sold group 35 for $179. Recently at Costco the AGM's were labeled made in Korea. Haven't checked Walmart. And I'm seeing more batteries made in Korea. Don't know if it's good or bad, just noticed it.
To me, I'd buy the German made one if available and I just may before they disappear/get harder to find as this month my battery is 5 years old.
Regarding Costco carrying the Interstate brand here in the USA, seems there are complaints of Costco changing the warranty and the batteries failing early. Apparently since their parent company (Johnson Controls) sold out, it's not the same Interstate quality of years gone by, just the same name.
For batteries in general the one's made by East Penn/Deka have a reputation for reliability. That's why current battery (still good) is an EP/Deka made Superstart Premium (store brand) bought at O'reilly Auto parts 5 years ago.

I did the Everstart from Wallymart. Most all batteries in the US are made by Johnson Controls, regardless of the lable, I learned. The platinum AGM everstart was $179 and had the longest warranty I could find, 4 years. In the application guide at Walmart, it’s not listed as compatible but it was a perfect fit in my 22 turbo. It took about 2 weeks of normal driving for the computer to adjust. Initially, after a drive it would take a trickle charge for about 10min to top up the battery. After about 2 weeks, it seemed to adjust the charging to accommodate the different tech of an agm, top up no longer needed or would not go into a charge mode, by the tender. My cx5 has 37,000 miles and Im a detailer and modder. My jbl sub and frequent interior cleaning with the doors open and lights on killed the oe battery that was probably on its way out anyway. Im running a custom interior light kit, added some led brake, turn and running lights in the rear bumper and the jbl basspro sub. It doesn’t seem like the load would be that much more but it was. I had a battery tender remote sae terminal in my front grill so hooking up my tender didn’t require opening the hood. I checked the charging voltage after the new battery, 13.8, just in spec for the AGM. Group 35 for the turbh, and it seems to start faster, almost instant as compared to the old flooded acid panasonic.

When I clean the interior I unlock the doors via the driver's door button and turn all lights off. If you really want to be sure, manually close the latch on each one so it thinks they are locked. But I'm not sure it's necessary. The car should be asleep indefinitely.

Thanks for the advice! I bought the Energizer AGM battery from Costco and installed it. Straight swap. The engine does feel like it fires up faster, definitely an improvement from before.

I don't know the country of manufacture though, there is no "Made In..." label on it.

I would have gone with the Energizer from Costco too, if only for the fact that Costco's battery warranty in Canada is still really good. I'm thinking that my next battery will be an AGM too.
