2017~2025 Electric Parking Brake wont leave service mode

Well I think I messed up. Replaced the rotors and pads on my wife's 2018 CX-5. Put the EPB into service mode hear the motors in the back did the work. We'll I didn't know you weren't supposed to turn piston on the caliper I maybe turned it 2 or 3 revolutions. When I go to take it out of service mode I can hear the motor turn in the back, they only make sound for like 2-5 seconds then stop but I still have both lights on the dash.
Im guessing I broke something not sure what. Should I just try and order new calipers and motors and have a headache tear them apart and see if I broke anything? Or any ideas how to get it back to normal?

There's a Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics YouTube video of a guy figuring out how to recover from a problem similar to what you're facing. In the video, he does a lot of trial and error, fiddles around with a scanner, and eventually solves the problem. It's not the easiest thing to follow, but perhaps it'll provide some ideas for how to proceed. Good luck.

Well its back to working for now. Got back out this morning to tinker with it again. Found that both caliper pistons where correctly positioned with the notches. Put the calipers back on and then filmed a video on my phone trying to take the breaks out of service mode to see if I could hear the motors calibrating. Both motors sounded like they were adjusting but still no luck. Ended up just trying to take it in and out of service mode and after about 8 tires it finally worked.
I will note the passenger side sounded kinda grindy in the video kinda wondering if this side is stripped out or something then finally took. But now I can apply the parking brake and both sides hold and it disengages too fingers crossed it stays fine until we go to sell car.
If the problem comes back I will try and update this thread with any findings.
