Electric exhaust cutout

So my girl says my car is too loud, and sometimes I agree. Other times I want it to be screaming loud. Here is a thought....

Onto my racepipe (or custom fabbed) have a really quiet resonator installed, like the vibrant. For normal driving, hauling people around, frequent trips to her parents house (2 hours), we can have a nice quiet ride. When I want the car to scream, have an electronically controlled cutout installed right before it.

ATP makes a really nice one that opens with boost, but sometimes you want that really mean open downpipe gurgle at idle and take off too, so i am ruling that out.

1. Does anyone have any good recommendations for where to get these? I found a few places but wanted to see who you guys trust.

2. Anyone ever dealt with these or have vids of these on a mazda?

THANKS!

From my own research and what I've heard the electric ones tend to have more problems and will leak over time. Cable operated is prob the way to go.... there's a certain brand i remember being good but I can't remember off the top of my head. I think its popular in the american muscle cars

MP3Architect and CitizenPro used to have cutouts on their cars. I think that the Architect used to have a manual one and the CitizenPro had an electronic one. Jegs sells some pretty top notch stuff. Check them out. Pretty fair on price as well with a variety of sizes.

I was looking at the dmh one last night and looks good. I would prefer one that I can adjust instead of just open or closed.... but whatever. People get cutouts to be obnoxiously loud, not for a certain sound.

How much you guys think for install at a muffler or speed shop? I'm about to start calling around. What do you think is reasonable?

some of the electric cutouts ive worked with leaked all the time. and i would not advise this product for this car beacuse of the flow changes and it throws off the short term and long term AFR

Not something I was considering. Thanks for the input!
